Buy early and online would be my suggestion. There are so many to choose from you don't have to break the bank.

Or alternative but last-minute from one if the many re-sellers around Leicester Square but be prepared to see whatever they have spare tickets for.

If you want to see something in particular book in advance, if you are not overly bothered and want a "West End theatre experience" do exactly what Mike F says and they do normally have a decent selection
