Elton John was 29 when he took over as chairman of Watford i have a funny feeling this record (accidental pun) will be broken.

Apart from the continuous "changes" in credit rating (presumably improvement) "freely available in the public domain" of a certain young mans  companies -  i know nothing for the avoidance of doubt.

a lot of fuss about J.Rs shares cant see what difference it makes weather he does or doesn't,if I,m not mistaken he is obliged to let the existing shareholders match any offer he receives, dick Watson seems to be offloading his to his sons without fuss

Are you sure about that?

And they've been minor shareholders for some time

Just because they are directors don't mean that they have to hold any shares... Dick has his health problems and I imagine they are on the board to help protect his investment and give him a more hands off approach whilst ensuring his voice is heard.

As for what difference it makes, JR owns about 25% of the club and as it stands, does not have any involvement in running the club or financing the club.

Tell me, why would Bramall and Watson pump any kind of large volumes of cash into the club whilst JR still owned 25% of it? What incentive do they have to make it more valuable so JR can benefit despite the fact that he isn't putting any money in himself?

I can see no evidence of share transfer from Dick Watson to his son and daughter. Between them they own less than 2%.

Unless acko knows this has taken place and Companies House still need to catch up.

There is also nothing to suggest JR has sold his interest.

I stand corrected but surely if the current board want to invest it would be in their interest to buy JR out or maybe it suits them to have him there.

All depends on how much money he wants for his shares I imagine. In real terms they are worthless.

Surely if he was to sell shares to TB he would want the same price as he let Terry buy them for.

it doesn't work like that gaz if the shares are worth more now JR is entitled to ask for more,at the same time if they are worth less TB is right to offer less

Jr could always try selling them to Louis T

It's sad that the man who saved our club now has so many question marks over his integrity that we can't even agree on what he meant by a seemingly straightforward denial of a story. Just shows you how much damage the bloke has done to his own reputation.

I reckon the current owners will buy Ryan out, personally.

Idont think he damaged his own reputation macho its more a case of everyone blaming JR for everything hes spoke well of the current board and wished them luck but at the moment it gives them an excuse for their own failings.but hes gone now so the board can only look  thereslelves in future and if they have the same success as JR did in his time no problem

I agree to an extent but when you consider things like the resignation at Oakwell, the whole SC debacle, outright telling us that no one else was involved with himself and LT last summer before owning up that wasn't the case in this interview. And that's not even getting into all the cloak-and-dagger shit which keeps getting stirred up by this forum and DRSG which I try not to get involved with. I just think it's sad that it ended the way it did after so many good times.
