Shame the people of Rotherham couldn't report child abuse as fast as they reported millwall fans knocking a fence over!

Never mind cracking one off over Millwall fans. I want to know whether I should be packing the season in or not.

I'm sorry, but allowing a bunch of Londoners to come to South Yorkshire and let them cause havoc? What kind of men are Rotherham fans? They should have kicked the living s**t out of them.

No arrests were made yesterday, which I find amazing given the level of disorder that occured

Quote
South Yorkshire Police are to conduct a post-incident investigation following disorder at the Rotherham United v Millwall FC game at the New York Stadium in Rotherham today (Saturday February 28).

After Rotherham United scored in the 85th minute, a number of supporters attempted to gain access to supporters in other parts of the ground.

Several stewards were attacked, leaving two with minor injuries, and additional police officers were deployed to restore order. As fans left the ground, further disorder occurred.

A number of police officers also received minor injuries.

No arrests were made today, but having secured comprehensive evidence including detailed CCTV footage, we will be conducting a post-incident investigation into this disorder, which fans of both clubs played a part in.

Chief Superintendent Jason Harwin said: “Officers have worked with ‎both clubs prior to today's game in an attempt to prevent such unacceptable behaviour.

“Again we see a minority of individuals spoil the event for many others. They aren't a true representation of genuine football supporters and have no place in football. Such action can not be tolerated

“I thank the bravery and courage of stewards and police officers in tackling such criminal acts and we will now review evidence to identify and bring to justice those that are responsible for such criminal acts.”

put them in conference see how they go then

Why should the Conference have to solve the leagues (Millwall's) hooligan problem?

Nice. I see the chief plod is keen to ensure that Rotherham supporters also get blamed. Just how many Millers are escorted off the premises each weke Chief Superintendant Jason Harwin? And how often?

I despise the police. I really do.

Why should any hooligan, irrespective of who they supposedly support, get away with their activities?

You despise the police Bob - without the police anarchy rules, is that what you want?

If I came back in another life, there would be a pretty fair chance I would be an anarchist Gloster. It has its attractions - though like every other system it's not perfect.

But apropos the subtstance of what I had hoped was perfectly clear, I'm wondering why the police chappy wants to blame Rotherham supporters when no one at all has suggested that they either thumped anybody, fought anybody or started anything. Of course, I'm sure you know better having seen fit to lump them in with the Millwall lot.

No I read that as a blanket statement meaning they would investigate and take action as appropriate, regardless of who the miscreants are.

Ok. Fair enough. I suppose that could be the case - but I still don't understand why he had to associate Rotherham supporters with what is very clearly a probelm with Millwall supporters.

I heard on radio Sheffield from their reporter at the game, I think it was Rob Staton.Iam sure he said that the Rotherham fans weren't blameless, because they were throwing coins at the Millwall fans first.

Amazing - and yet I remember one of or Fans (at Newcastle) being arrested and detained till he had missed the Trains home and had to spend the night there for accidentally (or not knowing about) breaking the law by having a swig of Whisky / Brandy from a hip flask

Holloway,
"So the Rotherham fans who were shouting at me about that, what do they want me to do, I am football manager."

Erm, maybe you could start by publicly condemning it?

Just been talking to a Rotherham fan at work who was in the section the Mi'waw fans tried to take.  He said there was some "banter" involving the Rotherham fans singling out one Mi'waw fan and giving him a hard time.  The second goal going in caused them to pull the separating netting away in the corner and come into "no mans land".  The stewards actually moved the Rotherham fans back first.  The police were waiting for them outside at the end of the game in full riot gear and seemed to be controlling their movements when my mate left.

Anyone heard anything about a bit of a battle at Sheffield Railway Station with Middlesbrough after they left Rotherham?

Cheers Filo.  I had the radio on in the car on the way home from the game but didnt have it on when I got home.  Boro v Wall would be very tasty indeed.

Been three times. I have a friend that is a 'Wall' fan and she's alright but sadly I echo the tone of what BobG has said. On one of these occasions I was on my own in colours  sat down on the train on the way to the match. I'm 6ft and at the time would have been about 16st (Not a huge lad but not exactly small either)A bigger bloke than me (maybe 6ft 3) in his mid 40's, bald head with tattoos on back of his head and neck. He started to aggressively tell me what he intended to do to my backside. It seemed to me like this was purely intimidation rather than some gay pass being made. A bit of a strange way to big himself up in front of his mates but whatever. To the credit of his mates they kept out of the verbal altercation that followed and nothing happened. It was bad enough that I had to do a quick head count in case it all kicked off and I didn't fancy taking on 9 of them. I'd have ended up in a bad way in hospital at best although I'd have done my damndest to have taken the t**t with me. My feeling at the time was that if i'd been a small bloke he'd have gone for me, but not knowing for certain that his mates would back him up or that he could get the better of me alone kept it at unpleasant  verbals.

Millwall are just like Leeds, Chelsea etc they feel the need to prove that their past reputation is still alive, if they want to prove how good they are send them abroad in the forces instead of picking on family stands with kids in them.
Why should Rotherham drop to their gutter level?

I bet they were old pesetas or such. No way could any Rotherham fan afford to be throwing money away.
