It's a great game and is generally far more accesible than before! Many good golf courses around donny that'll let people play a twilight round in a buggy for circa £10-£15! An even better course that can host euro tour would be amazing! Owston hall/robin hood had the euro-pro tour a few years back, bawtry, wheatley, doncaster, styrrup are all good courses too! Nowhere near as expensive or exclusive as it used to be! Can't wait to see how this develops!

I would have to totally disagree with IC1967, I think golf is on the up and I hear of more people talking about playing it and watching it than I ever remember before!I'm sure he will come back with some stat he has found on the internet somewhere but hey!
Around these parts golf has become a rash. New courses springing up all over the bloody place. You can hardly move these days without tripping over another one. So I can't see where Mick has got his data from either. It's most definitely not true round here. Have anothet go Mick? If you try long enough, you're bound to get one right in the end.BobG

Read my previous post and get an abject apology sorted pronto.
I think 'stymied' would have been a more ap't way to put the boot in Mick, but instead you put your foot in your mouth.
Unfortunately Mick is correct. I know this as there has been a fair bit in the cycling press/media about for a year or so now as apparently 'cycling is the new golf'. So see you all for a club run next weekend.....http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/golf/30422698

Any fool knows golf is on the decline. It's not just this country. The US is also suffering the same fate. Why am I virtually the only one on this forum that can back up everything they say? Here's a link to a couple of the countless articles that prove my point. Read them and weep (and get an abject apology sorted).http://www.irishtimes.com/sport/golf/lee-westwood-british-open-moving-to-sky-sports-an-absolute-disgrace-1.2087037http://www.irishtimes.com/sport/golf/sale-of-british-open-rights-to-sky-hard-to-justify-as-player-numbers-decline-1.2087276Game, set and match.
