Must be a), because Farage thinks it "couldn't look worse".

b) apparently doesn't matter, because UKIP "sincerely hope(d) this matter can be resolved privately". Which, apparently, means "decided that the person who said this is still fine to run as a UKIP parliamentary candidate".
