I don't find Micheal Mcyntire funny either, or that Miranda Hart

Is Miranda supposed to be funny? I watched it once and never cracked a smile. I thought it was some kind of social experiment.

Ken Dodd is relentless. Seen him a few times as a young 'un, his shows last for days! He is the master though, along with Les Dawson. Also growing up I liked Jasper Carrott.

Was never that bothered by Lee Evans until seeing him live last year, but have been won over. I like Lee Mack, Tim Vine, Sean Lock, Milton Jones, Al Murray, Peter Kay, Dave Spikey.

If I had to pick one though it would be the under rated Mike Harding. Saw him loads of times in the 80's. Loved his stories and quirky songs (don't mind some of his serious songs either). Much as I loved Peter Kay and his  observational stuff, Mike Harding was doing that 30 years earlier.

To change direction of the thread a little, the funniest comedian I've SEEN LIVE is probably Jimmy Carroll, now of Radio Sheffield.

I'd agree with that, Jimmy Carroll was very funny when I saw him, Bobby Knutt was also a funny stand up as well.

Probably the worst stand up I've seen was Roy spook spook Jay, he was that crap he sneaked out of the dressing room window at the Old Club in Stainy a few years ago, mind he had just been crucified by the dodgy wide boys of stainy at the time :)

Thinking about it, it was Jimmy Carroll and Bobby Knutt I saw in Armthorpe that night. Jimmy was Ok, thinking back, it was Bobby Knutt that got crucified by the locals, after about 5 minutes the whole room seemed to be talking amongsy themselves.

For me, Stewart Lee is incredible. I also enjoy Rhod Gilbert, Ross Noble, Frankie Boyle if I'm in that sort of mood and from the old school Billy Connolly was unbeatable. Never got McIntyre at all.

Wow yes Mike Harding, very well constructed comedy. Whatever happened to him?
Can remember seeing billy pierce at sun in around 1988?? Hated him on tv and had to be really talked into going but he was ace.

I used to like Lee Evans but saw him at the O2 on his "Big" tour about 7 years ago and he wash gash. His celebrity had clearly gone to his head.

I've seen Sean Lock, Jason MAnford, Ed Byrne and Dara O'Briain at corporate events and all were really entertaining. O'Briain was the best by far though. Sharp as a tack.

I'd love to see Stewart Lee live, no doubt some of his unbroadcast(able) stuff is fantastic.

I really don't get the appeal of Miranda or that bloody omnipotent Sarah Millican. Both absolute garbage. Not being prejudiced against women though. Lucy Porter & Shappi Khorsandi are both great when they're on form.

I bought the missus tickets to see Sarah Millican for mothers day last year, and then had to pretend to be ill so she took someone else.

If we stretch it beyond straight stand-up, the Bottom tours were the funniest things I've ever seen. Rik Mayall was absolutely f**king radged. Made his TV persona look like a Play School presenter.

And talking about radged...Charlie Chuck

Social historians in the 25th century will have a field day watching Keith Chegwin, Janice Long and Paul-f**king-King trying to figure out what the chuffing hell they were experiencing.

Mike Harding (still does I think) hosts a midweek folk music slot on Radio 2.  Loved his humour back in the day.  Went to a live show of his in Halifax about 1975, very, very good.  You could get LP records of his shows, I had one with 'Posh Parties' on.

Peter kay

I love him as a comic actor. Phoenix Nights was a tour de force and he finds some very interesting characters to portray. His stand up routine is wonderfully energetic, but I find it a bit derivative.

Maybe like Ronnie Barker, who I also loved, more of a comic actor.
