Plumb - refers to something being exact, derived from "plumb line" used in building - lead (plumbum) on a peice of string/wire. Plum - refers to something being desireable. However, a plum bum is exactly desireable  :cool:

My money is on that definition .... Plumb last meaning exactly last

I have never thought about it till typing it out last night !
