Departure lounge
« on April 24, 2015, 09:50:07 am by Bentley Bullet »
So it's that time of the year when players are turning their thoughts towards the season's end and where there destination lies.

Who do you think will stay here, and who will take flight to pastures new?

Personally I reckon Richie Wellens will choose a warmer climate abroad, where the sun is more prominent, possibly Turkey or Greece. Alternatively I reckon James Coppinger will go down south to somewhere like Cornwall or Devon, where he and his family can chill out in one of those luxury static caravans sited near a beach.

In any case Neither of them, or any of the senior players, will want to go there on crutches with a leg in plaster, so its only common sense to surmise that they will only be going through the motions in the last two games of the season.

The seasons effectively over for us, so lets all chill out and make this a light hearted forum for a couple of months.

enjoy the summer!

Can't see either of them two going, if I had to guess I'd say McCombe, razak and theo will not be offered new contracts wabara and forrester will probably won't want to stay. Hopefully furman, Bennett and Tyson will sign new contracts and I hope I'm wrong on this one but I think bywater will be offered a new contract

Am I the only one who doesn't think Bywater has done much wrong?  True he's not an outstanding keeper, but for L1 he's steady and reminds me very much of Sullivan (at the start of his tenure, not the end when he could barely jump!)  I've seen far worse in this division, including in our own team.

I think Bywater has saved more shots that I expected him to let in, than let in shots I expected him to save (this might need reading a few times to get my poorly worded point)

On that basis he's certainly good enough in this league.

I think Wellens is doubtful for tomorrow's game anyway. Copps will probably be on the bench. Start for Whitehouse possibly?

I think bywaters average at the very best, but then again I'm comparing him to the likes of Sam Johnstone and Ross turnball, I saw Andy Warrington pull off more saves in copps legend game then bywaters made all season  :chair:

That's a bit unfair!
Bywater's not done an awful lot wrong in my eyes and certainly won us the game at Leyton Orient. He's a decent shot-stopper and generally commands his six-yard box - we could do an awful lot worse (Gary Woods anyone?)

Bywater does come out to collect high balls which is more than Woods or Sully did (except at Wembley when Sully came for everything for a change).
He has also made a number of outstanding saves (two low to his left in one game - i cant remember who against though).
I suppose that when a keeper makes a mistake it is often a goal conceded but in my opinion he is no worse than most keepers in L1.
I saw Turnbull let one slip under him in a recent Barnsley game too so he also isnt brilliant every week.

I've heard Curtis and Cedric are stopping at home this summer to wonder into a maze, will they get out or go down many blind alleys?
