Saw the bottom two and thought they could be worth a chance. Would love to know who the 10 players dickov has spoken to are, are they experiance pros or up and coming youngsters from lower down or players that have lost their way and need to fall in love with football again ala tyson

Stead & Tyson up front could be a terrifying duo at this level.

If we could, I'd love to see us bring in Anthony Gerrard (McCombe must be going on Friday!?), Martyn Woolford could do a job in place of an ageing James Coppinger and Jon Stead definitely has league 1 quality and himself and Nathan Tyson together in league 1 could be leathal - similar to Billy Sharp & Andy Keogh at Scunny!

Nicky Bailey is good. Stead is one of the most over rated players in my life time.

Nicky Bailey used to be class, remember seeing him at Charlton and he absolutely bossed the game. I'm pretty sure he's about 30-32 so would definitely still do a job.

Jon Stead should never have played in the PL, agree that he's overrated, but could do a decent job here no doubt.

McCombe's contract was paid up in the last financial year. Probably for tax purposes.

Always liked Stead, skilfull for a tall bloke. Only a 1 in 4 scorer though but probably makes plenty ofv assists.

Wouldn't be looking to sign older players in abundance for next season. If we are serious about promotion we need to be looking at promising younger players and creating something for the future. 30 year olds playing in league one have mainly had their chance to be good championship footballers and are in or slightly past their prime.

Looking through that list, I'd have Martyn Woolford, Andy Lonergan, Jake Cassidy, Nicky Bailey, Aidy White and Mark Roberts.

Matt Mills! If we can persuade him to come this guy is a must for me! Wierd that I actually had a dream about him last night coming on as a sub for us in the play off final next season and scoring 2 goals, its got to be a sign!!

Wasn't it Bailey who tripped Copps up in the play-off semi-final v Southend to set up THAT free-kick?

Now that would show some intent to get back up.

Beckford has been released by Bolton. If available and doesn't stay at Preston, he could do a decent job up front for us.
