Apparently (according to the current Bun) Dunn broke the news to his players yesterday that they couldn't gurantee they will be paid this month....
This seems very strange seen as though they have taken Wellens on loan last week..I do think fans think Wellens is on more than he actually is at Rovers but if they cant pay there own players, how are they going to pay for ours??

Interesting. Makes you think that the likelihood of the deal becoming permanent is slim. If they fail to pay their players they will have a transfer embargo placed on them.

it doesn't make sense does it...They obviously have serious cash flow problems or no cash at all..They would have known this was coming before they even took Wellens, which makes me wonder on what terms weve let him go there and what percentage of his wages (if any) they are contributing too...

I see that Bolton player's haven't been paid either this month , but that will probably be Gartside's idea of a Christmas joke for them being bottom of the league.

I would imagine we are still paying all Wellens' wages

Isn't there a takeover going on at Bolton? Also I read somewhere that Gartside is at death's door. They've wheeled out the well-known troubleshooter Trevor Birch to run the club.

With Bolton, I think it's a case of either the takeover goes through or they go into Administration.

Seems to be a bit more now.

The owner doesn't want his money back but does want to cut his losses.

Why? It obviously suits both us and Wellens. I doubt very much this loan is about wages.

I would hazard a guess they pay two thirds if his wage ( maybe £2500 a week), and we do the rest. I agree it's not about wages I think it will be far more about the club and RW moving on.  This is pure speculation on my part.

Wellens has an "issue" getting about I believe. This may have something to do with it.

I think people have the wrong impression about wellens wages...nobody wanted him when he signed his last contract and I would be amazed if he's paid more than 2k a week tbh....

I would be amazed if he wasn't on over £2k a week.

Because both us and Wellens want to part company in January...He's not going to attract many offers playing on a Tuesday afternoon with the stiffs at Hartlepool....He needs a shop window so we can offload and give Fergy the budget to bring someone else in.....Wellens has moaned at Dickov and Now he's done the same with Ferguson and disappears out the team quickly on both occasions....He doesn't want to be part of Doncaster Rovers going forward so the sooner we find some club which is acceptable to his lifestyle the better.....He's better off been knowhere near the club till that happens in my opinion

When did Wellens moan at Dickov and Fergie?

He went to see Dickov asking for a move before the window shut as the travelling was killing him ....Dickov dropped him from the team but the move fell through...He got back in the team under Jones and Ferguson...Fergy suddenly dropped him again though after praising him which was odd, and in a interview after Wellens went to Oldham said that Wellens had been to see him about the travelling again....I think you can class that as moaning....

Wellens is the past now....great player but weve long since seen the best of him...Fergy looks like he want to build a new midfield with a bit more pace about it...The futures looking far more positive :-)

AND a midfield that can dish it out ala a certain midfielder who took a booking to save a goal. Good rugby tackle. why not???they did one only difference is that Middleton got booked. I bet him and the team think it was worth it.
