Really bad news, this was an important season, in his development. He has shown good improvement, and i wanted to see him get a full season, in front of the defence.
Bad, bad news for him mostly, and of course us and the team, the manager must be totally p..sed off with this news. It doesn't usually happen with our players, when coming back from injury, but i hope he can get back quicker.
He has a long tough road ahead of him, to get himself fit again, come on Luke, you can do it! :scarf:

Does not look good for sat.middleton given enough last season to secure that position for himself.

Keegan might be near to fitness and step in, or middleton might step up this year and take his opportunity. He has to really, middleton, he has had his introduction to pro football.
This season, will either confirm him as a good pro with promise, or somebody not quite good enough.
Football always give opportunties like this, i think he is capable of proving himself this season, he needs to tie down, what he is, as a midfielder, because i don't think he has shown consistently, which type he is yet.

I had Luke down to be our stand out player this season in his new role.
A massive blow for him and the club.
As much as I always want our players to succeed I have my doubts about whether Middleton is good enough to make an impact.
We really do need another holding MF and once again we need another CB.

Same here with Luke, really disappointed for him. On middleton, if he get's no opportunity, then he can't improve in anybodies eyes. Forget last season, to a degree, a tough situation for any young player to be in.
I think we can afford to give him a chance, for a good few games, if it doesn't work out, then bring a loan in or an unnattached player.
Don't forget Keegan, he could yet be the one to fill the gap.

Neither are good enough to play the defensive role consistently. DFs plan was to use Luke in that role. Playing the other two will be make do and mend for the season, when we are supposed to be going for promotion.

What an absolute b*****d ! Another ill timed ill afforded injury and I agree with the above for sure

Ironic we seemed to have "enraged" Fans last Season and the one before by hanging on before going to the Transfer market meaning (it seemed) that we had missed out on the best picks .... so this Season we have gone early got - on the face of it - some good and potentially good Players and here we are in more or less the same boat with lots of injuries.

So, DF certainly did have someone else in mind for DM role. Its in Daily mail and Rumour mill. Only thing is seems Justin Edinborough was not sufficiently impressed to extend his loan last season.

Gillingham at the time were top of league 1 so maybe will do us a job in league 2. He was on the bench for Plymouth in the play off final.

If fit Keegan will be a stand out this season. I've hammered him in the past as well.

I'll be happy if Keegan stands up never mind stands out. 😉
