Starting line up against Accrington?
« on August 06, 2016, 12:05:25 am by Sammy Chung was King »
What do you think it will be?. And what formation will he go for?. I think he will go for an extra central defender, to give added protection, to a not fully fit team.
Coppinger will fill in at right wing back, just over Blair, because of his experience. He will stick with Evina for the same reason. I think he will take a chance with two relatively inexperienced holding midfielders, in Middleton and Houghton. Who will make his debut, knowing they have experience around them to help.
Rowe he will want just behind the forwards, in his best position, the goalkeeper and strikers are almost certain picks. On the bench, options who can play a fair few positions, the new signing Beestin, getting his first splinters of the season!.

                                    Etheridge

                            Lund    Wright    Butler

                Coppinger                                  Evina

                            Middleton      Houghton

                                         Rowe

                               Williams       Marquis

Subs Mandeville, Blair, Calder, Garrett, Beestin, Keegan, Marosi

Having just listened to Houghton's interview it's clear he's been training with us this week and Fergje wants him to play holding mid. So more likely to be a 4-4-2 diamond.

Etheridge
Lund Wright Butler Garratt
Houghton
Coppinger Rowe Calder
Marquis Williams

3-5-2 I think.

Etheridge
Lund Wright Butler
Blair Coppinger Middleton Rowe Evina
Marquis Williams

Bench. Marosi, Garratt, Keegan, Calder, Longbottom, Mandeville, Pugh.

This but I think the new lad might start instead of Middleton

I think Jordon Houghton could be on the bench today.

Leave Calder out at our peril. He's been one of the bright lights in pre-season. He looks full of energy and determination. Just what we need to raise the performance level that was lacking last season.

Will be very surprised if he doesn't start Calder. Knows what he can do from last season. Think he is a strong contender to start.

Very positive intent there. Hoping for it all to fall in place now.

Sammy where is Beestin from? What sort of record has he had to warrant a move  to Rovers?

He was released by leeds. For the last two seasons, he has been with a football scheme called i2i, that's based in york. He scored four goals in three appearances for the tadcaster albion academy side.
i2i They take on young players who have been released, and try to fix them up with another chance in the football league. I suspect, they contacted Ferguson to see if he would take him on trial, and he impressed enough to get his one year deal with an option on another year if good enough.
He can play as a striker or attacking midfielder, so he is worth giving a chance. He won't cost fortunes on wages, he has something to prove, which always adds to a squad.
