I don't think we want or need this white elephant anywhere near Donny - we already have trains that get to KX as fast as 1hr40 which is not much slower than they are touting for Sheffield in 15years after spunking 35 billion quidFeel sorry for the residents of Conisbrough, Mexborough, Harlington, Hickleton and Barnburgh who will suffer massively for zero benefit.
I think that successive Labour leaders helped the Tories into power. This government is no better or worse than any of our ones from the past.[/quote. There are a few archeological issues that will cause grief Stratford sands ford lies under the old Iron Age fort in Mexboro it is probably the site where Ickneld Street Roman road crossed the DonIf so there is the remains of a paved Roman ford and a Roman road to contend with.then we have the ancient Celtic Well at Barnborough a medieval chapel built next to it and three long Barrow burial sites in the field opposite the Crown pub at Harlington.

Donny will lose its London connection whenever this is completed.
That 35billion quid will be 65 billion by the time it is finished, and for what?Generally speaking, the service will be used by the same people time after time. Why is it so vital to save 20 minutes on a train journey? With communications as good as they are today there is just no need to waste money on this project. The average person may use it once in a lifetime.A total waste of money.I think this money should be used for the creaking NHS and things like cancer research.
