That display was a joy to watch!

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Even when we went behind to a wonder goal, I always felt we had more than enough in the tank. So many players had a good game, I wouldn't want to have been the sponsors for MOM. Houghton however was top drawer - along with Copps, Rowe, Mandy, Mason, Marosi (when called into action, at a point when it was so easy to have switched off) - plus all the others. My brothers (and sisters), we have a team!

It certainly makes my hour long journey home more enjoyable.
It's been misery most games for the last couple of seasons.
Keep this season going lads.😄

Well said, even with a dickov win it was usually dire..  fergie has assembled a young hungry very energetic team, full of pace. Wins most second balls.  Klop stole the idea of pressing football from fergie lol
With the elderly statesman J. Coppinger leading the orchestra it's a sheer joy to watch .. long may it continue..

This post is absolutely spot on. Best team in the league and top when we win our game in hand.

Sometimes though you don't realise at the time, it's better to go back one step and rebuild and regain confidence. Rather than constantly battling relegation like some do and ending up with 'stop gap' signings.

Wish some of the so called football officianos who sit round us would look at it like that when a match is in progress as well. Sometimes it's better to go backwards to get a better position on the pitch...but what do we get most weeks????Gerit forward, gerit forward. Unbelievable

Did you ever get in the Commercial during your time at Thackley Ray?
Still great cask ales.

You have to go back sometimes to retain the ball. There's a way to do it, if you are playing slow sideways passes across the defence some fans will get annoyed. The thing is going backwards sometimes opens up holes where a second ago there were none.
That's why Baudry is vital because he can pick a pass whereas some defenders can't. You need somebody decisive who's confident what they can do. A lot of the time you have seconds to play the pass that scores you a goal.
Having him back there we have somebody capable of playing the ball quick enough to catch a team out.

We are doing really well aren't we? Very pleasing! So let's remember this next time defeat comes our way instead of becoming doom-mongers! Lol

I often have to laugh when fans moan because we have played a ball backwards and then a few seconds later we have created a chance or scored a goal.
Too often people complain if a player chooses not to shoot and try to hit it straight through a defender.
Keeping the ball is much better.
