Only saw the extended highlights. Firstly, Home Park was like a morgue. More atmosphere in space. I know people comment about the Keepmoat at times but a home game against with the top teams in the league and you could hear a pin drop at times.

Regarding the game. We had chances. Another day it's 4-2. An individual error and a penalty... very little from Plymouth apart from that (at least on the highlights). I'm not too bothered about losing that game tbh.

Most important is the red card incident. They're 2-0 up in the last minute. Mandeville missed what was actually a pretty decent spot kick. Sent the keeper the wrong and 6 inches to the left, it's 2-1. However, McCormick racing over Mandeville, leaning over him and pretty much screaming in his face... Totally ridiculous and shows what a sportsman he is. I didn't see anything in the reaction from Copps that warranted a red card. He's captain and is right to go in and protect his player. Referee got it 100% wrong. He should have booked McCormick for unsportsmanlike conduct and left it at that.

Hopefully we appeal, common sense wins through and the card is rescinded.

Can't see the card getting rescinded.  he raised his hands and grabbed the keeper by the throat.  Straight red violent conduct.  Couldn't give a shit about what the ref does to the keeper, but i give a shit about our players giving the ref an easy decision to send them off and to miss arguably our biggest game of the season on saturday.

He didn't grab him by the throat. Hands were raised but it was no Bremner-McKay encounter.

I was at the game, and in my opinion we didn't play bad, just unlucky and Lady Luck really didn't want to know us!
Our over all play was pretty good, I've not seen a team play so negative and get a win since Celtic v Barca a few seasons ago.
Our quality was a bit poor in the final 3rd but just an off day, any other game out lads have put 3/4 chances away before half time.

Still in the top 3, still creating lots of chances every game, we move on and forward to the next game!

We were on the front foot from the outset and I'd thought we'd score with countless crosses coming across their six yard line.
A switch off by Butts and a decent finish by the forward.
The pen was at the other end to us to be fair so I can't really comment.
I can see both sides of the argument for the Copps incident, but I can see why Copps intervened and the goalie actions were pathetic to put it politely.
I do believe it's worthy of an appeal, but I won't hold my breath.
Best footballing team lost, without doubt, but that will sound like sour grapes. A bit like watching an Arsenal v Stoke match if it was in the prem.
Big shout to the 385 fans who could make it there and covered 228, 690 miles between them, ( assuming they all left and returned to Donny).

I was disappointed with our lack of goal threat throughout the match. Lots of possession but no end product. The Plymouth keeper hasn't had one serious save to make all afternoon. The home sides defence nullified our normally potent goal threat comfortably, it was the quietest game I've seen Marquis have in a Rovers shirt.

No it isn't our biggest game of the season.. it is game 21 of 46 and just another 3 points at stake.  Grimsby being the opposition is irrelevant!

And WHO is leaning over Coppinger and leaning into him, Coppinger although his hands are raised may have been pushing the Aggressor away, at a recent home game in the penalty area Marquis was grabbed by the scruff of the neck and his shirt from behind and thrown to the ground.. Decision  was PLAY ON.....

1st League match this season we've failed to score in. Not bad a bad record - let's aim to make it the ONLY match this season we fail to score in! :scarf:

He had a great chance around 70 minutes when he slipped in the box after chesting it down. If he scored that I think we'd have got another.

I didn't think we played too bad at all! We had the vast amount of possession without lady luck going our way. At 35 minutes I looked at my watch and wondered when the Rovers were going to let Plymouth see the ball let alone play with it. You just knew there may be a sucker punch as so it proved. Schoolboy defensive error and a great finish totally against the run of play.

Prior to that all they had was one man up front and the long ball and the second half continued in much the same vein. If I had to be critical of the referee is that he responded to the cries of the home crowd a little too much. He gave the slightest of coming together to the home side too easily.

The penalty was at the other end so difficult to see and most people who were watching the play didn't see it as the ball had long gone. We should have had a penalty as well as the one given for an off the ball incident that prevented one of our players getting to the ball as it whipped across the box. But only the Rovers fans saw that one although the linesman had a very good view of the incident.

Our penalty taken was a very good one but just unfortunate as it hit the post and went sideways and out.

Not at all worried! We were by far the better side and lady luck just didn't fancy us that day. First team to score was going to get the momentum and so it proved.

My Plymouth mate pretended not to gloat but did! He also admitted he needs to keep looking over his shoulder.

The important thing is how we react v Grimsby. Not just because we lost, but we may have lost one our most influential players.

Things like this can knock things sideways if the players let it. We need Rowe, Marquis, Williams, Blair etc to step up to make sure we won't miss Copps as much as I suspect we will.
