Let's just celebrate promotion
« on April 29, 2017, 05:22:58 pm by Arsenal Of The North »
Yes it hurts that loss, but let's be glad we bounced back at the first attempt, at least we didn't take a couple of seasons like the other two. Let's try to enjoy the last game of the season an then build and look forward to the challenge of next season!

On a whole the season has been a success and that's something we can be proud of.  :rtid:

I'm disappointed at the moment but at the end of the day were promoted so we should be happy.

Let's all put the knives away.

It sounds dimissive of the title but I agree too. It also sounds incredibly arrogant to say, but after a relegation that should never have happened, for me this season was purely about playing L1 football come August 2017 and we've achieved that at a canter (and currently a walk!).

Its a sour note to end the season on but I'm sure Brentford and Bournemouth don't give a crap about how how the 2012/2013 L1 season ended.

Yes we should be happy that we got promoted but it is gut wrenching to not win the division.
Unless you play Sunday League or SPL, , as a player, medals don't come along too frequently so the team will be gutted too.

Superb to return to League 1 at first attempt but gut wrenching to see the wheels literally come off last 4 games. We have been the best side in this league for months but for whatever reasons we could not get over the line as Champions. Still a possibility but we must beat Hartlepool and hope Grimsby hold Plymouth!! So on to the next game and' glass half full' as they say. We are still promoted so well done lads just a shame about the finish - today we were just not at the races and looked a bit abject at times.

I'm not even disappointed.
Very happy we've gone up and the last few results show that the squad needs improving on and that Grant needs to go back to Everton.

It's the manner of it more than anything.

Fair enough if it had been a hard-fought race all season but we were miles clear at one point so it's hugely disappointing.  I'm livid the way we've cocked things up in recent weeks and whilst i don't want to be an entitled fan I find myself agreeing with esdailles left foot.  Yet another season tails off (I make that each of the last four now)

Very concerning more than anything that we have now fallen away badly in the spring in both seasons DF has been here.

We celebrated promotion on 8th April and since then have played four matches and played well below our early season form in each one.  All four were against teams with play off aspirations and we were found wanting each time.  Looking back further, we have been stuttering since early February, with only the two away wins against Leyton Orient and Grimsby being anything like Champions form (and even in those games we wobbled at times).  It's great that we have been promoted and we may still be Champions come next Saturday, but if Fergie thinks that we can compete well in League One with this squad, which has only displayed mid table form in the last 3 months, then I think he is in for a rude awakening.

From another post I made on a different Thread ... I am celebrating Promo.

Other Teams and their Fans will be sneering at us blowing the Title but most of them are going nowhere. Rotherham fans or some of them may be sneering at us but they are coming down and another set - Leeds - may be sneering too but they have missed (even) the Play offs and so cant go up

Football is not real life - and when real life kicks me in the teeth I will know about it and not be in the mood to celebrate - till then f*** it we are UP !  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: coyr

It is definitely the least satisfying of all of our promotions that I have witnessed.
