What is going on in this position? We have played with a right back for 90mins with 2 left backs on the bench? One who we signed as cover for Andrew and he cant get a bloody sniff!?

If we hadn't lost Andrew so close to transfer window end may be time could have been taken. Toffolo did play 22 games in league 1 last season for Scunthorpe so he should be ok. Is he better than Mason we will have to wait and see.

For me we now need to go back to basics, playing players in their rightful positions &,  if he's a left back give him a run & let's see what he can do, if not we may aswell not have signed him & stuck with Garratt & used Mason as cover for him, waste of money otherwise.

For me, you full backs have to be able to create as well as defend. Mason at left back doesnt give anything going forward.

But why does DF play Blair as a right back when his strength is attacking not defending. Today plays Mason who is a right back at left back. He had 2 left backs on the bench in Garrett and Toffolo.
Square pegs in round holes yet again. Why does he do it. If he continues as he is the there is only one inevitable consequence and that will be the sack before the end of November. Even our patient Board will run out of patience eventually

Agree. He was some signing, a real statement at the time signing the best left back in the league.

Never mind left back, I think right beck is just as problematic at the moment. Blair isn't playing well yet we've got Alcock sat on the bench. My hunch is that Fergie prefers Blair for his attacking capability and pace but at the moment we just need a solid right back.
