Pity you're not old enough to remember King Alick. Legend has it he used to play pissed up!

So how many people actually saw him drunk? from what I can glean from what's been said so far it's one person. Anyone else see him drunk?

COYR
I think the actual question here is who gives a shite? If he hasn't wiped his arse on the oppositions shirt, letched at the female barstaff and pissed in the Emirates potted plant I'm not too concerned he had one too many.

Why are we giving this post more responses than it deserves?

Let's make this post the last one on the subject.

Whilst fellow DRFC supporters were busy creating havoc in the stands at the Emirates the esteemed Chairman was doing his bit by stumbling around inside and outside the Emirates. Set a fine example didn't he? About time this Chairman did his bit and supported the club the correct way. He's the one who should be in the dock not DF.

Diamond Dave? J.R?
When are we going to get Ant and Dec on the board?
This just isn't good enough.

And what about the plonkers punching each other in the away end bar. Had to move my daughter out of danger.
And the guy on the girders who got thrown out
And the tits that brought in flares
And the tosser that ran on the pitch

So what if the chairman enjoyed himself?
He, like me, will likely never visit the Emirates again to support our team.

Which of the sanctimonious t**tter users has not been inebriated, drunk, thrown up and been generally obnoxious in their lifes? Hypocrites!!!!

Personally, I took my daughter to the Mercury in Islington, we had a prosecco aperitif, Lamb steak with Merlot, followed by Cheesecake and a rather fine sauterne. Just hope the Chairman had similar fine fare. Good on him.

Don't anybody call me stuck up, I was brought up in Bentley.

This has less credibility than most of the stuff in the Rumour Mill and that's quite some feat!

However, what makes this dangerous, to my mind, is that this directly concerns a named person, is unsubstantiated, written by an anonymous individual, and yet it will settle in people's minds that it probably happened. This is what is wrong about this form of social communication, it can be very damaging and not only in the most obvious and intended ways.

Seems to me to be the beginnings of a slur campaign.

Not sure of the motive but I think there will have to be more substantial evidence before people turn on the chairman. I suspect this is just the start of it by sewing the seeds. This is certainly not the best place to be washing dirty linen.

IMO Mr Blunt doesn't thrill me too much with his limited public speaking but I don't have a clue about his acumen behind the scenes. Only Gavin and the owners could be in a place to judge.

Behaved in what way?

You've not elaborated on your story, so what if he was pissed!

Everyone of those 5k represented the club, and a fair few of those behaved in a disgusting and obnoxious way, how does that reflect on the club?

And most of us don't even care about this.

This is going down the road of slander, is it not?

On the long termism v short termism thread, BJM is already stating that he hopes Mr Blunt didn't embarrass himself in front of the Arsenal directors !!

He has a habit of believing everything put to him about our Chairman. Don't worry about it.

The other day a poster said Blunt fell out with Fergie on Friday and then it turns out that was a load of rubbish, and Blunt wasn't even in the country by Friday. Don't even think that was a 'new' poster, so when someone who isn't a regular on here makes a thread like this making unsubstantiated claims you can understand the scepticism about those claims.

GUESSING maybe just maybe Fergie allegedly "fell out" with Blunt due to the alleged "drink" incident (Blunt should know about risk analysis & you don't put yourself or the good name of your 9% investment at risk -especially when you might want to loan some of their players) personally I'd believe the "fell out" bit from a regular poster

Why is anyone fxxxing interested in this.  If I hadn't been driving I'd have been proper pissed after that performance.   Pissed with pride as well as pissed.
Just another post trying to undermine anything to do with the club

Why not look on the bright side.   We were unlucky not to get something in the end.

Good luck to the fella I say.

I'd hate to think our chairman was a non drinking non swearing virgin without a grip on life

I don't even see why he felt the need to bring it up unless - and it is without a doubt - the intention was to shit stir.

We have taken the decision to lock this topic down. It currently doesn't serve a purpose and certainly doesn't add anything worthwhile to any debate. Its an unsubstantiated claim which may well be true but we can see no value in letting this continue.
