We always seem to play our Easter Saturday match the day before on Good Friday also.
I think our managers have preferred the extra day off before the Monday fixture and have then got agreement from the club we are playing.
This is the only thing I can think of as a plausible reason as most matches today and Easter are played on Saturday. This is a pattern that has gone on for quite a few years now.

That was a good win, not the greatest performance, but more pertinent in the way it was achieved, in the way we matched the physical side of the game giving as good as we got.
Some time ago I mentioned that I felt we had to man up to compete at this level and were being bullied out of games, Gillingham in the first game and other inferior football teams were coming to the Keepmoat, and physically knocking us out of our game. Them days look to have gone if the Bristol and Rochdale games are anything to go by, where we matched sides openly trying to work us over.
It was not the greatest game to watch, hard graft and good goalkeeping winning the game for us, plus the taking of two chances one from outside the box, which was a great strike, and one from the edge of the box by Alfie.
Much of my criticism of Alfie has been that he needs a touch before shooting, and it is an aspect of his game he should work on. His goal was deflected admittedly, but he did hit it on the turn first time, giving the defender less time to close him down, and got his reward. Nobody was more pleased than me.
After that goal Hill showed his experience and changed things slightly, we got away with a bit of luck for a change when they missed two great chances, and Lawlor who is fast improving played well.
Rochdale went after Rowe and Copps, and it showed how important they are to us when they play well, but it is another three points, and keeps our mini run going. I think the cup game will be a bit feisty carrying on from this game, but for now it is on to an important game at Peterborough.
