Should England play whenever possible in their National Flag Colours of Red and White ONLY. Even the Three Lions should be Red on a White background or vice versa depending on whether we opt for a predominantly White or Red shirt  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

No. Our traditional football colours are White shirts and Navy Blue shorts and the change strip is Red shirts and White shorts. We should stick to those. I like the new strip it’s back to how it should look.
Germany play in White shirts and Black shorts but their national flag contains Black, Yellow & Red.
Holland play in Orange yet their flag is Red, White, & Blue.
Football shirts and fags are separate enterties in my opinion.

Italy Blue New Zealand Black Australia Gold and Green and there are others but probably 90 % use only their National Flag Colours

Netherlands (Holland) are known as The Orangeman (William of Orange) and indeed their Flag was Orange White and Blue but was changed to Red White and Blue when it proved more difficult to positively id the Orange version at Sea - important to avoid friendly fire even in the Cannon Gun Sailing Ship days

Bang on Campsall. Since coming into being in 1872 England have played in white shirts with blue trim at home, and played with a blue crest emblazoned in three blue lions. The national flag is irrelevant.

Will be interesting when Scotland (eventually) get independence and their Colours are removed from the Union Flag

It'll be even more interesting when the green that Northern Ireland play in is removed as well!

Doesn't the Red cross represent Ireland?

England has blue in the kit because of the colours of the 3 lions in the badge, which is the badge of the English FA.

It is sod all to do with the union flag, nor the st George cross..

I thought that was well known?

There is a bit more to the football shorts story. Despite the fact shirts came in a variety of colours and designs, shorts were generally only available in black, navy blue and white up until after WW2.

Liverpool wore white shorts until the 1960s, Norwich used to pair black shorts with their yellow and green shirts before switching to green.

Strangely enough, so were schoolgirls knickers.

Good to see the Red and White ONLY is leading - and better yet those who dont give a s**t are outvoting the ones who say we should have blue in the Kit !
