I have just been to the AFC Fylde v Preston game and I found myself sat with him, he said he was still a fan and he said Rovers are the bast club he has ever played for, and he said his son is still a fan of the club, nice words from him I think

Chatted to him once at Barnet before he joined us. Really nice guy.

Stephen McPhail is still limping after that crunching Dools challenge

That was one of the finest challenges I’ve ever seen from a Rovers player.
Reminiscent of the bite that Bremner’s teams used to have.

I remember Snod once reminiscing about the days when he and Animal would run out on the pitch, look the opposition midfield in the eye and say, “You ready for what’s coming?”

Fantastic player for us, had the odd stinker like, but a massive player for us back then.

He could still do a job for us now judging by his performance in the testimonial match at the KMS a couple of years ago. Superb performance despite being about 5 stone overweight.

BB that game proved what a football brain the guy had, and other players of that team too.
In the conference era we had players who were playing several levels below their true footballing level.

I agree Selby. We were the Man Utd of the conference and invested in the team accordingly.

Still remember how he used to switch the play from left to right and back again so effortlessly. What a player.

I also met him once and he was a really nice chap.

I’m slowly coming to the realisation that out of all the Rovers players I’ve met over the years, generally speaking, the better the player, the nicer the bloke. And vice versa of course.

Richie Wellens must be the exception that proves the rule then.
