Simple neck injuries can be right swines.

I did mine 20 years ago, on a pull-up bar across my bedroom door frame. Used to do sets of 20 pull-ups. I was struggling on one set and kept going when I should have stopped. On the 18th or 19th, I heard something pop in my neck - I'd pulled a little muscle. I had major problems with it for months. Had to turn my whole torso to look round because I couldn't turn my head. Every time I fell asleep and my neck relaxed and my head turned, I woke up in agony. Even today, I can play a drum roll with my neck joints popping if I twist my head too quickly.

I assume the club physios are looking after him well.

EDIT: Might explain why I'm such a crabby bas**rd.

Apparently lifting it off in a way that will hurt your neck is the wrong way.

Just make sure you are the one lifting it!
