Our Elected Representatives or Children ?
« on January 16, 2019, 07:50:42 pm by Donnywolf »
The more I watch of MPs on TV the more I think they are like Kids. In fact Kids would probably be better behaved in such circumstances
Gove ranting and raving while May nodded every word he said as did the nodding dog that sits to her left as you watch on TV
Everybody on that side of the House cheering and waving Order papers whilst May patted Gove like a pet Poodle - and Javed slapping the Table

For fairness and balance the Opposition in all its forms are just as bad - Labour the SNP etc (I will exonerate the Lib Dems as there are not enough of them to misbehave)
And the sad thing is these people - looking little better than clowns or kids are supposed to be running our Country - organising leaving the EU looking after things they SAY (when they come up for breath from back slapping and laughing and name calling) are important to them
I just wonder what the hell is wrong with them ? If you see televised debates from other Seats of Govt their debates are quite tame and polite by comparision to ours. OK I have seen the odd scrap in some Parliaments which cant be condoned either but by and large - on average - we look an unruly undignified stupid set of cretins
Agree or necessary evil / tradition / acceptable way to carry on ?

Completely agree with you and one of my biggest gripes with politics in our country. They all just behave like children...or animals, when there is absolutely no need for it. What ever happened to listening, with respect, to somebody elses point of view. If the people elected to lead our country and shape the future for us all can't sit for 3 or 4 f**king minutes, quietly, while somebody with an opposing view speaks then what chance have we got?

I agree DW. They are an absolute shambles. There are perhaps a dozen of them who are ok. The rest are useless.

My MP- a Tory- seems a decent enough cove, but I'm not sure I trust him to make any great decision. Which is exactly what we are asking the lot of them to do now.

Maybe we should shut down the government.

I'd be interested to know what the temporary Parliament is going to look like when they leave Westminster so it can be refurbished. Will it be designed as a replica with each side facing each other, or on the circular design that most other legislatures have? I believe that the circular design might help moderate behaviour as they then wouldn't be shouting directly at each other and they'd just look even sillier than they do now. A complete overhauling of Parliamentary rules at the same time wouldn't go amiss either.

I have never thought very much on the politicians we have or had in general. But being many years removed now from the UK, I am watching what is going on with this Brexit stuff with disbelief . From the outside what a shambles it is and what a complete set of F#*kWITS running and making the decisions for the UK at the moment on both sides.
