After the game
« on March 15, 2019, 11:06:18 pm by roversdude »
That is the last 2 times we have had live cameras at KMS that it has been chaos coming out of the ground - with the narrowing of the walkway due to tv vans and then cars being allowed to drive round.

It was crazy last night. We had the health and safety issue with the stairs a few months ago that was eventually resolved sensibly but, this is a far bigger problem.

There is an easy solution to this problem and that is to do what other grounds do, e.g. Scunny, and prevent cars from moving on the stadium ring road for 10-15 Mins after the game. Not just for telivised games but all games. Someone wil get hurt before long.

Direct the people from South Stand past the Bike Sheds before they reach the Vans ? OK its towards the roads and not ideal

West Stand (South End and Centre exit) - we went along the Path towards the road - just before the start of the Van Park and when I looked between the vans it was a right crush. Any West Standers going that way would have almost have had to fight to get through

West Stand (North End ) less affected - with those heading Hyde Park direction less affected and the ones heading towards the Vans maybe directed towards the road thus avoiding the Van bottleneck

I accept that its not ideal but lets face it - it is not happening every game - just every game we are covered on Telly and most people walk a fair way to the Ground from Buses Train Station Car parking spots etc so an extra 50 or 60 yards and extra care when near the road would not be too onerous ?

EDIT - and a Glosterred suggests Cars could be managed as well for just TV Games

Coming out of South Stand Car Park - cars to turn left only.

Coming out of West Stand Car park - cars to turn right OR left then immediately right towards Porcelanosa ?

Cars around the perimiter of Ground held from Final whistle as is done elsewhere for a period of 10 minutes

All these "restrictions" would be applied to Telly Games only. There would still be some traffic along the road of course such as Buses Stobart lorries etc but they should be at a minimum

Organisation seemed chaotic everywhere last night - Lakeside pub pre game stopped everyone going in saying that bar staff were overwhelmed

Maybe Lakeside overrun with it being a Friday ?

BVB seemed to be coping though even though lots of away Fans were in there. I did leave after 1 Pint though (as it would have been my Round) - so may have got a lot busier after 7

There was also an old fella who tripped on the cabling outside the ground by the tv vans. Granted they were covered over with plastic "humps" but dangerous none the less for those less confident on their feet. With so many people around and being dark it was very hard to see these. Luckily for the guy there were plenty of people around to prevent him falling.

Feel like we perhaps need better lighting outside the ground for evening fixtures, it was very dark outside last night before the game and nightfall hadn't even fully hit.
