Train to kings cross, then a 40 odd minute train journey to Luton from st Pancras... done it the last few years, dead easy.
Same issue on East Coast line for Luton as there is for Wimbledon - trains terminating at Peterborough then bus service to KX.Via Sheffield is better option but when I looked at going that way there was some doubt whether Midland Mainline were offering a full service - advise you to check carefully before booking.
You want cheap or convenient?Cheapest is with Megabus - buy a return from Donny to London (gets in at St Pancras) and it’s a bus to East Mids Parkway then a train into London. You’ll have to then double back on yourself to get to Luton. For convenience, any train from Donny to Kings X then train from St Pancras (next door to Kings X) up to Luton.Be warned that, using any of these routes, you end up in Luton and it’s a shithole.
Done. 11.48 to King's Cross; no track maintenance other side of Peterborough on that day; 14.05 fast train from St Pancras arriving in Luton at 14.26; I admit it's a bit of a tight squeeze, but I'll get a taxi if I'm pushed.£47.20 return with rail card; I'm pretty pleased with that. This will be my 5th away game this season, and I've still to see them win on the road; I hope I'm not jinxing them.
Throwing a spanner into the works, Gambin is on loan at Crawley Town currently, but is still contracted to Luton, so I wonder if he'll count?
