PS. My biggest worry re Warwickshire is that Ian Bell will miss the first two months of the season as he recovers from a foot operation. I find it rather satisfying though that both my football team and my cricket team have as their best player someone who is in his mid-thirties and who could probably play another five years given good luck with injuries. An Ian Bell innings is a treat to be enjoyed, just like the regular James Coppinger master class.

Great batting performances from Ballance and Root again today.
Another flat April wicket. Yorks 310-3 on day 1
Harry Brook out cheaply again opening the batting.
Just hope they don’t destroy this lads confidence as he is a tremendous prospect.
He is only 20 years old and it is a very difficult at that age to open the batting at that level. Should be batting at no 5 imo.
Maybe an opener in a couple of years time.

I don't think it's too young - extreme example but Alastair Cook was opening the batting for Essex at 19 and scoring test centuries at 21. Age is no obstruction to opening the batting, but I do get the feeling that Brook is being shoe-horned in there as he's a prospect and we don't really have an alternative.

Good batting performance again today, hopefully our form won't collapse once Root goes off with England and Ballance's inevitable recall for the 438th time!

Great performance with the ball today.
5 more wickets tomorrow and an innings win beckons.
Weather set fair so this should now be a formality.
It will be a confidence boosting result on a ground we have previously found difficult to win on.

Excellent victory by an innings wrapped up today, especially as it’s against a side who themselves had an innings victory last week. Really good start to the season, hope we can continue the good form after the month long break for pyjama cricket.

Great result on a ground where taking 20 wicket isn’t easy.

A great win today, Ballance is currently on fire, and the attack used for one day cricket has pace and spin to trouble one day sloggers.

Excellent stuff today - runs aplenty and a good bowling performance. Not sure when Willey & Rashid will go off with England but we should hopefully get 3 or 4 more games out of them and be clear at the top of the group by the time they depart!

Just got back from Headingley. Great win.
Very comfortable as Leicestershire never looked likely to get any where near to chasing down 380.
We were 17-3 when Brook and Ballance came together and they went on to put on a record one day 4th wicket partnership for Yorks.
They looked as though they were having net practice they were so comfortable against the Leicestershire attack.
It has been a very promising start to the season.

Great game yesterday against Lancs in the 50 over cup.
Went right down to the last ball. We needed 3 to win and only got 1 so lost by 1.
Got run out going for 2nd run which would have given us a 2nd consequtive tie.
Great entertainment for the big bank holiday crowd in the sun.
Just a pity about the result.
