Shocked, it was only in the summer he was a pundit on Sky for the Ashes series

Wow, what a loss. I loved watching him. Always gave every last drop. And by all accounts, an absolute gentleman too.

Loved him. Straight to the point. Massive character. Him and Boycott would have been a right pair on TV.

Seemed a brilliant genuine guy. Didn’t realise how difficult it was for him to bowl, apparently in constant knee pain. Thanks for the memories and RIP

I was gutted to see this..Big fan of him while growing up.Great pundit and he's going to be sadly missed on my tellybox.
I think knee's are a big problem for fast bowlers,i had the pleasure of walking back to the train station after a world cup game this summer with Big Joel Garner..Windies had just got beat and we were chatting about the game.It took three times as long as it should as Joel could hardly walk as his knee's were shot..Not that i cared you dont get many opportunities to chat to a legend like that very often..

Yes even at a lesser standard (Yorkshire Council) I had (have) twin cousins who opened the Bowling for 8 to 10 years and they have had all their 4 knees done

That Headingley test win in 81 was just as much down to Willis as it was to Botham..
Sad news indeed..
