The Green shirts
« on December 29, 2019, 06:50:14 pm by Filo »
While I understand that the shirt auction will be for charity, why did we choose a team playing in red and white to use the shirts, allowing them to use their home kit, giving them a phsycological advantage. Some may say I’m talking b*llocks but every little helps in my opinion. That does n’t excuse our shit show today though

I don’t think it mattered one bit in all honesty..

What kit did the opposition wear last time we used that green shirt design.?

I’m sure it didn’t make a jot of difference but I agree with Filo and made same comment. Didn’t like the fact that we wore it for a home game and against a team that play in red and white and should have had to change strips.

Playing in red and white stripes doesn’t seem to have helped Sunderland that much over the past 8 weeks or so.

Don’t think it makes one iota of difference. Teams play in their home colours at away games all the time. Don’t think Donny have actually played a league game in the new blue/black away strip yet have we?

One of the feeblest reasons to point to a defeat I think I've ever seen. The performance and result yesterday had absolutely nothing to do with the kit colours.

We always wear the charity kit in a home game, it gets the most eyes and attention on them to Rovers fans.

I agree with Filo....
To show subservience to a bigger club sets the wrong tone, a few around me commented similar, so it might not make a difference to the shit-show offered but to fans around me it was a deference

Absolute rubbish.!!  It wasn’t subservient to Sunderland at all..

It was a fixture where we decided to wear a short to raise awareness for a good cause..

We lost because Sunderland played better, not because of the shirt colour..

I never said we lost because of the shirt colour, Sunderland had n’t scored away since September wearing the away kit, physiologically they were at home wearing the home kit, we could have chosen opponents that do not wear red and white but we did n’t and red and white was all around the stadium

Sunderland had been shit both home and away in the past few months before yesterday so I don't think it made much difference.

I did say in my OP, it might be b*llocks, but in my opinion we should n’t be handing any advantage to the opposition, no matter how small that advantage may seem

I am told Dave that’s the first time we haven’t won playing in a Charity shirt.

You were told wrong then as we drew 2 all with Burton last year when we wore the multi coloured charity kit.
