Danny Amos

Looks like we might have found one here. Still some edges to knock off and he got caught out of position a couple of times early in. But that's understandable. And he got better and better as the game went on.

There was something about him that shouted out "maturity" today. You'd never have guessed he was a rookie, if you were watching that as a neutral.

And that ball he dinked into the box in the first half that Ennis almost converted. Absolutely sublime.

End

He reminds me of Ian Harte
Good delivery but susceptible to pace

First time I've seen him, very impressed.
Like you say looked a bit suspect defensively at times, I was surprised when they switched their number ten to the other flank in the second half, but excellent on the ball.
Loved the way he came right to the fans for the high fives at the end too, you could see what it meant to him, proper fans player.

For a full back now it’s probably as important to be good going forwards if not more important than defending. Especially for teams who try to play through the thirds like us.

Great to have a player who with a bit of work will be quality who is actually a drfc player not a loanee

Those Ian Harte corner deliveries still give me nightmares

He’s technically very good. Could be a good one. Seems slow to me though.

That night against Reading was the most consistently dangerous and accurate exhibition of corners and free kicks that I have ever seen.
I'm glad I wasn't the keeper or a defender that night, it was relentless.
A joy to watch in a sadistic sort of way.

I remember that night, for all those corners and free kicks they only scored once.  Shame it meant a 1-1 draw rather than the victory we desperately needed..

Their was an air of inevitability about their goal, and it's scorer.

funny you posted that    seems he is rapidly becoming flavour of the month .better late than nevr .... i got wise to him a long long while ago  November 14th 2018 to be exact  and to think he could not make the Hartlepool first team  :suicide:

Amos was very good last night and in particular getting forward and putting in crosses one of which was superb curving round their back line into the path of our two incoming forwards. ..a skilful young man ,strong and positive on his play.

it's funny you mentioned Amos was very good last night (someone else has said similar on here today)
guess what almost a year ago I posted this during the defeat at Notts County in this competition - mid match --

Denny Amos apparently is playing well

i missed out the bit about how impressive his crosses were then . Their lot Notts County were impressed with him

So he is a year older and his career hasn't progressed from what i can see - he couldn't even make the Hartlepool team when he went out on loan last season. The seagulls were on the pitch more than him  :crying:

But hang on a minute aren't good crossers of a ball like golddust -- and you can make a career out of just that  --

Enda Stevens did has .............   so he needs to go on loan to a 4th division team on the condition that they play him in a certain way - and that way only

just seen this post by redj from the same match

Tom Anderson is f**king shit. Dunno what's happened over the summer to him!

hence my post when he finally made a proper start against wycombe

Can see the merit in that line up. Perhaps agree with others though with the preference of Sheaf.

Ideally, Fejiri would be in the front 3 but obviously not available.

Good luck to Amos I hope he shows again what he can do. He delivers great crosses into the box.

nice to see Amosquito get a start hopefully he can fly down the wing and put in some stinging crosses :scarf:

a lot to look forward to today with Lokiko on the bench as well

I once asked a certain manager about this young kid Amos a while back, he said I'd be surprised if he doesnt go for a big fee one day, he can be that good a player.

First time I’ve seen him this season and I was very impressed he seemed to grow throughout the game and you definitely can not fault his passion, he played for the badge.

Looked really impressive & mature, how he didn't start in front of John previously is a mystery.

Agreed. I thought John was the best cover we could expect, but having seen Amos a couple of time, it's looking like an error from Moore, not blooding him earlier.
