The Neil Baldwin Football club (Marvellous)
« on June 27, 2020, 07:11:37 pm by silent majority »
Just a note for those who have never seen this, but Marvellous, featuring my good friend Malcolm Clarke is being shown again next Wednesday on the BBC.

Set to record if you can't catch it 'live', its a really decent football programme, and it's all true!

Brilliant, proper feel good film & as has already been said, Toby Jones is fantastic. If it wasn’t a true story it would be unbelievable. Well worth a watch,

Watched it last night; absolutely incredible. Anyone who watched that without a tear in their eye must have a heart like stone.

Actually, I once met Lou Macari outside Belle Vue, and he's just as great a guy as he appears to be in the film. He has a permanent smile on his face, and, even though he's famous, he makes you feel that he's as pleased to be meeting you as you are to be meeting him.

What Lou did for Nello in his life was absolutely heartwarming.

Maybe Steve, but I think Malcolm’s relationship with him for the last 50 years is just as valuable. I gather the paperback is about to be released soon and it brings Nello’s life up to date.

Glad you enjoyed it though.
