So SidneyRover who probably voted to install one of the biggest antisemites in the country into the office of PM,voted to give Diane abbott the job as chancellor with her mathmatical skills, and probably Emily thornberry into the cabinet who hates the English flag aand the people who are proud of it.He cannot accept that the people voted for Brexit a typical leftie who only believes in Democracy when it suits him,and he thinks the country is in a mess because the present government does not suit him.As has been predicted the next Labour prime minister has not been born yet.

She wasn’t going to be Chancellor though, that was John McDonnell. If you look at his proposed policies, a number have now been implemented by the current government. Incidentally, the current lot have been in power for well over a decade and the public finances are terrible, far worse than when they entered office. They have failed and we are having to pick up the tab for this with extra taxes and reduced spending on the very poorest.

As for Brexit, nobody wants to go over this again but what is clear is that there is not a shred of evidence that we will be better off economically than if we had remained in the EU. There are plenty of emotional reasons people may have supported Brexit and these should be respected, but we will be economically worse off outside the EU than within. Which again, we are all going to have to pick up the tab for in future.

As far as i can see the only people who have divided the country over race in the past year have been BLM.
BLM, the desecrators of war memorials, anti police, anti capitalist, white haters who want to destroy our way of life. Hopefully when we are allowed back in to stadia the boos will ring out for any idiots taking the knee to support them. Keep politics out of sport.

Good to see you condemning the Football Lads for bringing  politics into sport.

He is kinda right though! ….but like has been said, this should be in off topic!

It’s not off topic. It’s very much on f**king topic.

No, but having to leave your home in fear of you and your families lives should be enough. Some people on here have a nerve having a pop at me for booing the knee and then think the Batley teacher scenario is ok!

Do you work for The Daily Mail or are you Nigel Farage? Corbyn isn't an anti-Semite, he's made some anti-Israel comments due to what they've been doing to Palestinians but that doesn't make him anti-Semitic, however, Boris on the other hand has numerous comment such as Muslim women looking like letterboxes or the watermelon smiles comment, but I don't think the anti-Corbyn rhetoric is to do with race as no one who voted for the Tories cares about Boris's comments, which in all honestly should make him unelectable. Priti Patel has made cock up reading out numbers too but interesting that Abbott's faux pas is constantly mentioned.

You have conflated a few issues there, so let me separate them and simplify them.

If you take the public sector net debt position, this deteriorated significantly from the last full fiscal year when the Labour Party was in office (2009/10) when the debt/GDP ratio was 62.6% to the final full fiscal year before the pandemic hit (2019/20) when it stood at 84.4%. So even without the extra spending on the pandemic, the decade of rule by the current lot has been disastrous for the public finances.

A separate point is that our leaving the European Union (and specifically membership of the Single Market) has a huge economic cost. This is mitigated in some part by a series of thinner replacement trade deals, but everyone from the OBR to the European Commission has credibly modelled a significant and enduring economic loss to the UK. People voted for Brexit for all kinds of reasons and we voted to leave, so it is right that we left, but that doesn't diminish the fact that leaving the EU has a very material economic impact on the UK.

These are two different points, in the context of this exchange. The very substantial deterioration in the public sector net debt position is a different one from the costs of Brexit.

No form of racism, oppression, threatened or implied violence, is acceptable.

However, you're highlighting one case here as a response to centuries of murder, enslavement, cruelty and unspeakable crimes.

This is f**king typical. Yeah, but....

I strongly suspect I am wasting my time here, but your own words were “doesn’t give us any facts”. I gave facts subsequently, but you didn’t like them as it presumably conflicted with your preconceived views.

I’ve got no idea what Alastair Campbell might have said about the Nissan plant at Sunderland. That’s just one site and one employer though. If you take time to look at modelling on an aggregate basis, there is no evidence that leaving the EU will be economically advantageous. Plenty will have voted to leave the EU for other reasons, perhaps ending free movement, or other perception of sovereignty. They have that, but there is no economic benefit, only mitigation.

You can't be that blinkered to think that Brexit will not cost thousands of us our jobs - I include my job for a manufacturer, where everything is slowly being moved to Europe. The UK have paid certain large employers big amounts and made some pretty big promises to keep them in the UK.

The impact of this will not be seen for years yet, but it will be devastating for future employment.

I am obviously bitter about this, it puts me out of a very good job I love. I would just like it to have been for a good reason, but I can't find or see it.
So we can't be great again  so we are not ruled by European laws - nope, still have them! So we can do great deals with....oops no.

You would like to think that the English had moved forward since the 60's&70's we've took a few steps, then jumped back. We are more racist than ever, and have a little englander chip on our shoulders. This thread is one of the worst reads I've seen in ages - apart from the first post.
