iFollow limitations.
« on August 02, 2021, 09:40:02 am by bellevuebulgar »
Can anyone help with an explanation of the iFollow philosophy please?

I’m advised by iFollow Support that “the service does not support Android boxes, Smart TV devices, AirPlay or Chromecast functionality.”

Do we know why not? I reside overseas so rely on iFollow to see my team and these restrictions significantly detract from the experience.

What it means is that if you start asking questions about a bespoke operation, or similar, they don't have the manpower or technical ability to answer every single instance.

Thanks SM, iFollow Support gave me a full and prompt response to a query, what I don’t understand is the rationale for restrictions. Is it technically difficult? Is it too expensive? Are there concerns about potential infringement by public viewings?
I merely want to watch my team on our lovely big screen, not my phone.

If you have a fire tv stick, Download the amazon Silk browser and open up the rovers website form there. You'll be able to log in and watch in that browser window. Was what I was doing during the season.

You can cast from a PC to any Android device.

I believe the casting to tv’s is the issue as it could be then used in say a Pub etc.

I’ve been watching the iFollow games on my smart tv using ‘screen mirroring’ with my iPhone 11. Not sure if this is possible from every phone or smart tv but it has worked for me. To get ‘screen mirroring’ I have to sweep from top right to bottom left of my iPhone & just press ‘screen mirroring’ and the device you want to project it to.

I understand your point and, as people on here will tell you, it is possible. But from an EFL point of view they can't support all the various combinations and don't want to employ extra technical staff to provide that level of service. After all, they struggle to run a football competition as it is!
