Odds for the Wycombe game.
« on October 10, 2021, 09:53:01 am by normal rules »
Hot on the heels of the mk victory which bagged a few quid for some of us.
it’s no surprise that rovers have the longest odds of any home team in the lge for the visit of a strong Wycombe side this coming weekend. 3/1 with sky bet.
The draw is 12/5 and Wycombe are 4/5.
Difficult one this.

Every game is hard when you're at the bottom Of the league

Draw looks a decent bet i'd say. Can't see us winning but i can see a draw being a good result all round. A point on the board and a decent price for a punt too.

A mini bus of us coming over from Bradford for this in memory of my late son. It would be great if the Rovers can top the day right for us.
Only problem is one of his mates as only ever seen us win at Valley parade, never at the Keepmoat.
He was at the Notts County when instead of celebrating promotion in style we lost with barely a whimper.

Fingers crossed the boys can put on a good performance for you and gents then, Idler!

I'm sure you'll all enjoy the day and sink some ales between you nevertheless.

if Wy combe with a point and go home with a point that will do nicely as part of Octoberfest Celebrations. We already have 2 more points than expected with the "dip your bread" matches to come later in the month.

I think Wycombe are all wrong for us.

Too strong? Too physical? Too well organised? Better players? Better system? Quicker, faster, fitter?

Wrong for us in what way?

bet 365 and a quarter have Rovers at 7/2 for this

CLH CONNECTED HIS BRAIN and recalled

SAT 02 OCT 2021LEAGUE ONE
Wycombe Wanderers 4
Morecambe 3
Horgan (50'minutes), Vokes (53'minutes), Tafazolli (73'minutes), Thompson (90'+2minutes)
FT
HT 0-2
McCalmont (4'minutes), Phillips (26'minutes), Ayunga (80'minutes)

Mighty Morecambe were 2-0 and 3-2 up on the same day Rovers beat Micky Dons

lets not mention Rovers beating Motecambe

the fact is no matter how bad Gaz says Morecambe are  a Wise man would realise they must have been unlucky not to win that match

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/58687877

A dominant Morecambe opened the scoring after four minutes when Alfie McCalmont's shot from the edge of the box beat the wrong-footed David Stockdale.

And they added a second in the 26th minute when Adam Phillips finished off a fine move..........

against Gillingham it "appears" they started like a house on fire 2-0 up after 7 minutes but the bbc says

The Chairboys moved up to second in League One after Garath McCleary and Hanlan both struck in the first seven minutes.

But the struggling Gills had their chances at Adams Park, with Vadaine Oliver missing a penalty just past the half-hour mark.

the second wycome goal sounds like a fluke " the ball ricoched"

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/58770946

on top of that MK dons beat wycombe 1-0 at home in late September

not that CLH has any intention of betting on the match but the odds according to the facts above are from another planet    "Uranus"

Update
Having checked wycombes results last midweek for what its worth they lost 2-1 away to of all teams MK DONS in the pizza cup. Thats twice MK have beaten them

Their big strengths are our big weaknesses.

This pretty much hits nail on head for me, and very succinctly too.

MK Dons are not a big physical team and they beat them twice.

So why can’t we.

And this statement sharpens the pencil point

Remember if you take 7/2 rovers with 365 and they get 2 goals ahead you are quids in ....... Seem to remember one year rovers cruising 2-0 against a wycombe rabble at the bottom ofthe league andit ended up 2-2

I got 15/4 on Bet365 a few days ago... think it is a winnable game and they haven't been dominating teams away from home..

If it’s the game in 18/19 ur talking about I think we got beat 3-2 that day after Bering 2-0 up with 20 mins left, think it was Paris Cowan-Hall who came on and tore us a new one.

Away match yes we were 2-0 up and lost 3-2. They scored 2nd in 89 th min and 3rd in 93rd min if my memory serves me right.
Akinfenwa came on as sub and we struggled to handle him.  They were a very physical team and we got little protection from the ref.
