May be give Jones another chance, he was outed after a couple of blunders in Pre Season when to be fair, that's when everybody is a little rusty.

He's got to get his chance sooner or later, might as well be at Crewe or in the Cup games at Scunny.

I think Jones would be playing at Scunny however well Pontus was doing.

Well i think that is a mistake. Can't afford a slip up at Scunny. Obviously league points are the most important but to get knocked out at your local rivals who sit bottom of the entire football league wouldn't be a good look.

Just for clarity, I am not advocating putting Jones in the team at Scunny, far from it.
I am kind of expecting it though.
There does seem to be a swell of support for leaving Pontus out though.
For all the mistakes he makes he does also make many very good saves.
I remember that error at Accy but he went on to make several excellent saves to keep us in with a chance of nicking a point.

We have largely relied on loan keepers for the last few seasons. Some were talented, some less so. All of them made youthful mistakes, even Dieng (who is not that youthful but hadn’t played much league football before). I would have thought this was one position where you would want your own man as keeper, preferably an experienced one. Now we are no longer playing that absurd tactic of passing out from back, having a keeper who is also a sweeper should not be a priority. We just need a keeper who can block and save, not pass and shoot. If he can throw the ball to someone who can, that is good enough for me.

I don't know why there is so much crticism of Dahlberg, his skill and expertise in picking the ball out of the back of the net is second to none in this league.

If you have to make 20 saves a game your going to make a mistake somewhere. He has no protection

He was only at fault for the 3rd goal yesterday from a great ball in,he will be disappointed he didn’t gather it up cleanly,if only we put sun food ball in like they did yesterday also like the 1st goal the keeper can’t really win in that instance

Welllens did say that he wanted his own goalkeeper, but because of how short we were everywhere else he needed to use the budget I. Those positions

Both 1 and 3 are a bostock problem not the keepers, yet the keeper should have done better when it gets to him.

He has not enough protection, it seems they are all happy for it to go through them because he saves most of them, lazy or not good / quick enough can only be the answers for the outfield players.

If you have 20 saves to make a game you are going to make a mistake at some point
