Sky do seem to be lucky with their choice of fixtures. I don't know how they do it.

I wonder, cynically, if the club can afford for this game not to go ahead?

not being funny but our owner has a lot of money, yes it's up to him how he spends it and he has put a lot of money already into the club but I can't see how this game being off would make that much difference

Because Despite the wealth of the owners, I suspect the club is run on a budget. This is not a slight on the owners either who I have the greatest respect for.  This is a nice pay day for the club. A rare opportunity this season to put something reasonable back in the coffers. Tv money plus probably one of the biggest, if not the biggest attendance this season.
My comment was somewhat cynical also.

Why on earth would we not be doing everything possible to get the game on?

We've had too many games postponed in the recent past and, going back as far as the big game set up at home v Leeds when all the pubs were forced to close etc and it was then cancelled far too early in the day due to frost imo.

Likely to be the highest attendance of the season so far thanks mainly to Sunderlands travelling fans.

Additional revenue from the TV money.

Not had many home 'Boxing day' games in recent years.

Just like every other game, you play it as you have paying customers.

Nothing cynical to see.

A live Sky game from the EFL was postponed today at short notice, so don't presume it'll be on because of that.

Anyone heard anything about big Tom? heard a rumour last night, hoping it’s just a rumour.

Free Press said a few days ago he is very doubtful. As good as they might be in future, I cannot see us starting with a young lad in his place. Maybe shift in Rowe or Knoyle again, alongside Olowu. Thought Ro-Shaun was getting close to fitness again so maybe he is in with a shout.

Knoyle has come in to centre with Hasani wing back again. Blythe also starts. No Anderson or Galbraith. Both of whom started our last game 16 days ago and played 90minutes. Somehow they have managed to get injured in that period of more than two weeks, to the extent that neither can even make the bench.
