Went to see him at Manchester Apollo in September 83 my first ever concert, a totally brilliant show. Bumped into a fellow Rovers supporter at the interval and remember discussing the up coming weekend match.

I saw him a couple of times live. My favourite artist by a long stretch since I was a kid (thanks to my mum - I'm 34). I don't normally care about celebrity deaths but this one stings a bit.

Evidently Heaven couldn't wait any more.

Just hope Old Grey Whistle Test repeat his set from way back just after BooH had been released. That performance lit the fuse and BooH took off

Bad for good ... some people might never have heard of it.

If you like Bat out of Hell (the Album) you should love BFG as they are so similar in their music and running order

I have recorded BFG for many BOOH lovers and knocked their socks off

Was always told Bat was for Jim Steinman himself but he was ill and sought out Meat Loaf to record it

BFG was to be the follow up to Bat but then Meat Loaf was stricken in vocal dept so JS had to takes it on

I also love The Storm (single that came with BFG) cos it's really good

Don't know how accurate my stuff above is except The Storm bit cos that is brill

Just looked things up, date etc . We beat Bury 3-1
Peacock.Russell.Snodin.Snodin.Green.Humphries.Miller.Moss.Douglas.Kowalski.Lister.  scorers Moss.Douglas.Lister.  att 2777.
It was the match after John Bukovina made his only ever appearance, away at Hartlepool
