Sacked by Burnley.

Astounded to be honest. He has worked miracles at that club.

They will probably have someone lined up to take over and try to keep them up.

I hope they go for Duff.

Burnley sacking Dyche probably should've happened in the summer. Time for a fresh start there - but doing it now is rather odd.

the fact is if the "alleged" blood & sand money hadn't gone into that club on the north east coast Burnley would have stayed up

if they have any sense they would have put him on gardening leave and got a fee when he is snapped up in a flash

I lost respect for him during 1st lockdown when I believe he commented against financial support for the lower league clubs. Can't fault what he has done at Burnley though given what appears a small budget to work with. Wonder where the TV money has gone at that club?

He probably will. Let’s face it his retirement record is abysmal. Longest one up to press has been 3 weeks hasn’t it?

Another club who believe they are better than what they are, do not give the manager the correct finances to get in better players and believe they are to good to get relegated.

Think that’s is very unfair. They are a well run club who live within their means.

They get gates of 18.000 in a town of 80.000 and are competing against clubs who get 2/3/4 times as many through the turnstiles.
Clubs who also have commercial income that Burnley can only dream about.

So are you saying Steve they should overspend and be like Derby, Wigan, Bolton etc etc?

No they should realise their position and the manager is getting the best out of what are top Championship players really. We will see if another manager can get more out of these players.

Burnley are like Norwich, Fulham and Newcastle - Too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Premiership….. and from what I am reading today, their fans are happy with that and are gutted that Dyche has been sacked.

It’s down to the ambitions of new owners and perhaps in the short term, money might buy them a slightly better run of success, but ultimately they are a modest club with modest support and with Dyche at the helm they have performed better than they could possibly have expected.

I hope he gets a testimonial for his 9 and a half years of service.   I’m sure that the Burnley fans will demand it!

Terrible decision if you ask me, how many players has he found and sold for big fees. I really can’t see Burnley getting anyone better or being able to do anything like the job Dyche has done with the money he’s had. Sadly the owners will now feel they have to bring in a completely new management team who’ll want money to spend and there the spiral begins I’m afraid. Even though they don’t pay big money by PL standards they’ll still struggle in the Championship if they can’t get rid and be up against some clubs with deeper pockets than them despite parachute payments. As for SD, there must be a stack of good clubs just waiting to snap him up and as much as I rate Evatt, I wish Wanderers were one of them!!

I remember well when Bob Lord,  the local pork butcher,  was the fella who put all the money into the club. How times have changed !

I’d take him and his football at EPS next season. At least his side show a bit of heart and football intelligence

Dyche will struggle to get another job in The Prem but is there a better manager to get a relegated club back up at 1st attempt?

This is the start of their ascent down the league’s. Nobody will recreate what he has at Burnley. He’s done a fantastic job.

Do you mean descent, Sammy? I know a family of Burnley supporters and they say the style of play is awful to watch. It will be interesting to see where Dyche ends up.

I doubt he would have given Dyche the chop.
