Owl in peace

I’m genuinely sorry to see you go down. I’ve always had a soft spot for Donny as my Grandad was a fan who would talk about the 1950’s team and the great Alick Jeffrey. In the 80’s and 90’s I’d often attend 2-3 Donny games a season courtesy of a few Rovers fans who I worked with. I wouldn’t say you’re a second team for me, but certainly a team who’s result  I look out for.

When we played you at Hillsborough earlier in the season I thought the two sides were very evenly matched and Rovers could easily have won without a complaint from me. At the return game in Donny it was clear that the bruises of a very tough season had taken their toll and you seemed to be completely lacking confidence.

You don’t need me to tell you that the table doesn’t often lie though.

Hopefully you’ll regroup in the summer and come back much stronger next season. The recruitment of James Coppinger as Head of Football could be inspired. Whatever happens you now have someone who clearly cares passionately about the club in a position of authority.

All the best for next year

Thank you.

All the best for the play-offs and hopefully it won't be too long 'til we meet again.

It's a cruel game but all the lows make the highs sweeter.
