Wow ... how to spend a Saturday

( and I'm not knocking it ) . Each to their own

https://www.branchline.uk/fixture.php

Click Salt and Pepper link . Name refers  to Goole's 2 Towers which are said to resemble a Salt and Pepper duo

I was in.Goole Saturday and opposite Station. I came out of a shop and saw the back end of this train which I thought was Southern Region as rolling stock was Green - and the power unit at the back was pushing the train and unseen loco along.

Instinctively I thought "steam loco" pulling , damn , missed it

So I searched quickly and found the link above and was stunned to see it was a 6 car diesel so no steam loco and had left Hastings yes Sussex at 6am to travel on Branch lines all the way to Goole Glassworks where it arrived just 2 minutes late after a 7.5 hour journey !

It saved there for just about 25 minutes before leaving at 2pm and taking almost exactly 8 hours to get back to Hastings again

Cost ? 134 quid for round trip but 199 quid if you wanted premier dining package.

What a way to spend a Saturday. Hope they had Bingo and Karaoke like Retford Rovers trips do
