You can't take too much from first games.  I remember one season a few years back Norwich conceded 7 at home to Colchester first up, yet went on to win the league..

I was just going to post that if there are positives from today it’s not losing and that if Bradford are the favourites we have nothing to fear from this league.

So early in the season so most likely means nothing but we had some top players missing (even excluding the usual injured lot). Then we get early subs, sending offs and subbing of subs!

Have to say, as much as they huffed and puffed, Bradford were nothing to get excited about. Whether that was Rovers playing very well, and for the majority of the game with 10 men, or if Bradford really are not a sum of all the parts having spunked a lot of cash, don't know.

But if we'd have had a full squad, we'd have won that I wager.

They looked to have decent players but couldn’t do enough to break us down.

I think they will definitely get stronger, I’m glad we got them out the way early.

They might be favourites, but I very much doubt they are the best.

Far too early to judge any team on a first day performance.

And Stockport lost at home to Barrow.

It’s the 1st game. Means very little.

Absolutely. I think it showed the danger of a big man up top, the temptation to go long is just too high and they fell in to that time and time again today.

Equally we didn't offer too much first half bar balls in behind for miller, given the second half though that's hard to judge if we had come out a bit more.

We were very well organised and coached though I thought, set pieces all looked decent too.  Positive signs.
