Faulkener going out on loan ??
« on December 09, 2022, 02:49:08 pm by Butchers Red »
Having seen every game this season, and how jittery and nervous we usually are at the back, I can't for the life of me see why we aren't playing this lad, week in,week out alongside big Tom with RSW and Olowu in reserve. From what I've seen he would do a great job and within 18 months be a player who would bring us in a few millions to boot. Crazy.

He’s done really well and not let anybody down (could possibly have done better at Hartlepool)
Seems strange comments by DS about not being technical

Not had a sniff since going to train at Man Utd, I wonder if a deal has already been done for January

You wonder whether Schofield is a little too technical in his whole approach, like not telling them until after the match last week that they needed to move the ball around quicker. Ideally in a perfect world the expert coach might feel Faulkner would benefit with a loan - and not sitting on the bench in the National League - but can he be absolutely sure? He shown he’s as good as what we’ve got. Perhaps RSW would “benefit” from a loan!

Looks to me like our Technical players p**s about with it in our own penalty area and don't pass it forward myself.
I always thought that football stopped in both penalty areas, you were supposed to shoot at one end and get rid of it at the other, we are not very good at any of those things I do know, even if we have technical players.
Passing the ball backwards into your own penalty area and tripping over the ball is technical is it?

I've said over and over again, Brian, it's just an accident waiting to happen all the time.

If international players and Premier League players struggle with it, as they do, how the hell can League 2 players be expected to cope with it?

It is fashionable on coaching courses, to believe that the right way to play is like Man City do.

Trouble is we don't have their players.

The job for a rovers manager is to set up to best use the qualities of the players at the club....that does not include fart-arsing about on the edge of your own penalty area.

We do not need a coach to run the team, we need a manager to "manage" the group, and find a way of working that improves the chance of strikes on goal.

Playing 1 up top (at home as well) is a disaster in terms of goal potential and entertainment....be good if some woke up to that.

I can't see any real difference from GM to DS in what we are about.

absolutely spot on. It’s like a football snobbery. It’s labelled as the “right way” to play. It’s utter b*llocks. It hasn’t done Spain any favours this World Cup. It’s not even that entertaining.
We’ll never get out of League 2 doing this with these players. Very few teams do. Many will hate to hear it, but you have to be physical and athletic and often direct.
I fear it won’t end well for our current chap. We need a man manager, a leader of men, not a coach who thinks he’s Pep.

Exactly, at this point in his career that would be an awful move, would just spend his days in the u21's or loaned out and not settling anywhere.

But at the moment he isn't getting the game time he needs.

Retdon1, England currently have one of the best centre halves in the World Cup not good enough for Manchester United, but he is as good as anything Manchester United have in his age group buddy.

Currently he looks to be behind Williams, Anderson, Olowu and possibly Long, to say nothing of Knoyle and Rowe who started off in the CB role today. So maybe going out on loan for a month or so and getting some football instead of warming the bench or a seat in the stand might be a good thing.

He’s by no means the finished article but they obviously see his potential. He’ll probs be sent out on loan from there to aid is development.
