Press interviews do present an opportunity for the Head Coach to improve the way fans regard him. It is not a matter of providing as little information as you think will satisfy the questioner - and as has been said, that does not require much effort.

I cannot say that I dislike him, but when I do listen, I hear similar things to what I’ve heard from him before, often more than once, and quite frankly he is not inspiring. If we are to believe he can do a good job he needs to show that he is more perceptive than comes through. Copps could and ought to be teaching him a thing or two about PR.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. He's a head coach and will speak as such. It's not about trying to gain popularity other than from the way the team performs so as long as he can inspire the players to play well enough that's all that matters isn't it?

It's up to you whether you believe Ben Close but the ultimate test as said, is on the pitch.

Asked what attributes Rovers might benefit from, Schofield, whose side failed to register an effort on target in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Leyton Orient, said: “Something in the final third, some creativity, some speed in behind and one-versus-one moments.“

Someone who can play both wide and up front could be handy to support Miller. Taylor is out and Hurst is talented but inexperienced. Woltman is just ineffective.

I saw a rumour about Bakayoko from Bolton who we have been linked to before.

Amadou Bakayoko has joined Forest Green Rovers on a permanent deal. Fee involved.

He wouldn’t have dropped to league 2 even if we’d have paid a fee which was always the case.
