Winter of discontent across football

The problems at Everton are well documented.
I had a look at the Leics forum to see if anyone is commenting on Ben Nelson.
Seems they are an unhappy bunch. Some of the threads on page one.
Relegation.
Arguing in the stands
Protests
Sack the board.

They don’t know the half of it do they? Languishing in the top flights for recent decades. Winning the premiership against all odds.

Much lower down there are the issues at poor scunny.
Then There is our very own DRFC and the malaise that seems to be pervading currently.

Got me wondering, is this just a sign of the times. A post pandemic football whine-a thon?  Is it even more prevalent than these few clubs?
Or is it just the fact that the insatiable desire for success at all costs is finally coming home to roost? And fans fail to see this.

I’ve seen a report that went out just before Xmas citing that 43% of all English football league clubs are in financial distress. That’s 31 clubs.
More pain to come me thinks.

It’s an interesting point. In my opinion there’s a few factors at play here.

1. There are some clubs that feel they’ve a god given right to be in the top flight and challenging for the title. Everton fall into this bracket as did Leeds, Forest and various others over the years. Generally when someone claims that they’re a ‘big club’ then what they really mean is that they used to be good.
2. I’m sure that most football fans would agree that money is ruining the sport. However I’m sure that many fans feel that their clubs should be spending more money to chase and gamble on success. Is this a case of hypocrisy? Are expectations unrealistic?
3. I don’t think there’s any malaise at clubs doing well. I’m sure Arsenal fans are having a great season!
4. It seems to be a lottery when it comes to club owners. Some seem to be great whilst others are nothing short of a disgrace. Does this make that much difference though? My Hull City supporting mates tell me that the standard of football they’re serving up is awful this season…yet thanks to their new owner there’s a definite feel good factor at the club?
5. As we know, a few decent wins can rid any feeling of malaise. I’m sure if Everton manage to get a decent run together then many of their fans will be overjoyed. Fans have short memories.

It depends who it is, NC. If it's yet another unknown young kid with little experience, then it's understandable some fans will be concerned.

I’ve seen some damn good entertaining footy games at non league with part timers.
In fact  most rovers fans who have been about for the last 15 years have.
