Reports coming in that King Charles III was supposed to meet EU President Von der Leyen tomorrow as negotiations for Sunak's controversial Northern Ireland Protocol deal are finalised.

Clearly an attempt to bounce the DUP & ERG into supporting his deal (how could they oppose something the King was in support of) thankfully it has been called off as this would have been the monarch's biggest intervention in politics since his namesake tried to shut down Parliament in 1642. And look what that led to.
