I still don't understand the need to buy their stuff, surely anyone needing food could pick it up on the way to the game or drink enough without needing to buy it at the ground if you can"t go 2 hours without a beer perhaps you need to look at yourself in the mirror plenty of opportunity before or after the game elsewhere
If I was coming straight from work I'd make sure I had enough snap with me at work to cover it and a flask

Thats the point, lots don't buy their stuff that usually would,I don't,except for a pint because of how poor it usually is,but I would like to,or atleast have the option to.It's not much to expect, especially when you travel to away games and see what is the norm, and yes I know there is some really poor catering at some too,And to recommend you go 2 hours without a pint, wow so much for the match day experience, even the away end got automatic pint vending machines. Why do all the other stadiums sell "their stuff" then? Having poor catering on the concourses is not just about fans being disappointed,it's an area where income could be better if the contracts/companies involved are more suitable.Having previously had such a long term contract on a brand new stadium with a company the club had(as far as im aware) had no experience or dealings with previously is,im sure one of the main reasons it has been so woeful for so long.

What sort of contracts do we sign up to?

I mean how on earth is a 2* food hygiene rating not a breach of contract.

Surely it should be written in about keeping a certain standard?

Of course it is, but what are you going to do when you're just a few weeks away from the end of the contract?

Get rid early counter charge and temporarily put burger vans round the ground.

Better to protect the Club Doncaster brand than let a company with a poor hygiene rating serve your customers.

That’s just not workable and not a legal minefield anybody would want at this stage.

It’s not like it’s just been flagged that the catering is utter shite. It’s been like this for years.

Maybe the hygiene rating is low is because they sell out of date drinks. Got one today which I had to return. Changed no problem but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. You have to wonder how many they got rid of that way without people noticing?

I use to work for Sodexo, in a very different role. They have the catering contract for some prestigious and massive venues. Just seems that we got the shit end of what they offer. Only managed to get over for one match this season and looked forward to beers and food at the stadium. With the exception of a beer in the belle Vue bar everything else looked terrible.

Whether it is them or someone else the fundamentals don’t change - everything has to go perfectly for 45 minutes every fortnight, 30 minutes before game and 15 minutes at half time. Of course they will f**k it up. Question is how badly and it appears to be worse for us than other clubs.

I suspect we are caught between two stools, crowds not big enough that they can be arsed to bother or invest but crowds big enough that it’s quite a complicated operation with multiple outlets and offers.

You can see the rating on ‘scores on the doors’ app.

Reads as follows:
Compliance with hygiene - improvement needed
Confidence in management- generally satisfactory
Structural compliance - improvement necessary

The structural part is interesting. Who’s responsible for maintaining that? Issues might not just be with Sodexo after all? Lots of comments about how poorly maintained the stadium appears to be isn’t there?

What is the length of contract as the issues highlighted on here seem to have been going on for a very long time?

improvement  necessary will lose you 2 stars , and more of an issue than improvement needed I.E the cleaning ,people are looking to put the blame on sedexo but should be looking at the club on this one

The club is responsible for the structure of the kitchens / kiosks as it’s part of their building.

When my company did maintenance at the stadium a number of years ago, the things we found and saw at times was mind boggling but I’m not going to go into those on here. As I say, this was a few years ago now, so i can’t speak for the current situation.

The club does need to carry out and evidence certain maintenance tasks in order to get its FA Safety Certificate to put games on but these are a limited amount of things and doesn’t cover all the regulatory and compliance checks required for a building.

It’d be quite interesting to see the results if a full compliance audit was carried out on the stadium.

The seating lay out in the BVB looks like it was done as a ´class project’ by eight year olds.
