Tommy Rowe

Thankfully Tommy appeared none the worse after he received treatment on the pitch & the Doctor was also in attendance. It took me back to the early/mid 90’s away at Torquay & the broken neck suffered by Ian Meacham, the injury that day was a freak one & it still sends shivers down my spine when I think back to it. Chris Swailes landed heavily on Meacham & you could hear his neck crack all around the ground, it was frightening I can tell you and I had traveled down on the team coach that day & the name of the physiotherapist escapes me now but he probably saved Meacham’s life by keeping him motionless on the ground and not moving him too hastily.

Rowe got an elbow in the back of the head/neck today. Couldn't say for certain it was deliberate, but their lad had to swing his elbow back a hell of a way to make contact. Didn't look like the sort of motion you'd naturally do to get purchase on a jump.

The lad (think it was the same player) did something similar but looked more premeditated on Olowu in the second half

They obviously remembered the two goals that Tommy scored at their place.
