A fair bit of chat on their forum about financial tightening. The company that owns the stadium went into liquidation although it was denied it would impact on the operation of the football club. They seem to expect a bit of a clear out.

Lots of criticism of their own players and the referee but surprisingly little directed at Ferguson.

Thought the defended really poor last night and made so many mistakes, including the last clearance, all he needed to do was get a good clearance away

Well this lad might be available soon....

https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/football/peterborough-united/peterborough-united-goalkeeper-caught-boss-darren-ferguson-on-instagram-following-sheffield-wednesday-defeat-4150046

Seems like a bad apple if that's anything to go by.

Had a spat with Fergie and was sent out on loan last two seasons..... played 42 games for Mansfield last season and has lots of experience - over 300 games.

Well, we can't really say it's a failure for Fergie. When they brought him in to replace McCann  the objective must have been the play offs, as automatic was out of range at that point.

Once in the play offs, anything can happen, as it did last night. Just a pity it adds another f*ck up to Fergies list.

As he was only given the job till the end of the season, then it's likely they'll be looking for another man, particularly if they are having to cut costs.

Probably a good thing that McCann signed up then....!!

Pym is a good keeper.
Fergie has a habit of making goalkeepers feel uncomfortable.

Looks like he upset another one doesn’t it.

Pym would be a decent signing imo.
Unless there are other issues we don’t know about of course.

Second worst save percentage in league 2 this year whilst playing for a strong team.

Definitely worth asking for Ricky Jade-Jones on a season’s loan, you never know. He looked very lively when he came on. Play him as a wide forward and he could tear up this league and kick start his career.

Pym is rubbish but he’s got a point about Fergie. He’s not a bad manager overall but his in game management is horrific. His teams, however good they are, are never far away from a hiding as well.

Sammie Szmodics.

He isn't Turkish, CBCB, and was with Colchester at the time that Plumbster is referring to, which I assume was the 0-4 defeat at Peterborough when Oztumer played us off the park.

Ironically, Fergie was our manager at the time.

He didn’t say he was Turkish, he questioned whether he was Turkish. He also said he ran the game “a few years ago” not a specific game, which you assumed to be a certain game.

Thanks SS that was who I was thinking of, similar build to Close but unfortunately that’s where the similarities end- but let’s hope GM can get more out of him

In that case, you'll have to ask Plumbster. I'm pretty sure he meant Oztumer. One thing's for sure, it couldn't have been Szmodics, because he wasn't with Peterborough a few years ago.

He played for Peterborough United from 2020-2022. That’s literally a few years ago.

I’ve no idea who he means for definite or whether this lad is the guy, but equally there wasn’t much to go on either.
