Not the best of starts I'm afraid. Only black coffee and no milk.

Ran out of burgers at half time in the east stand. But no biggie just have it sorted when season starts,
Had the salt and pepper chicken instead, was lovely, though really spicy.

At this point in season catering will be based on tickets sold as they will have no historic Nos to go from. Looking at the stadium I'm not surprised they didn't have much stock. Bet the away fans weren't complaining about catering!!!!

Seen some praise about the food on offer both from Rovers and Wednesday fans. Seem impressed with the loaded fries particularly.

Looking forward to tickling my taste buds next week.

ASDA is next door.

Gregg's at Lakeside had no milk (maybe Monday) so didn't sell me 2 Lattes and whatever else I would have bought .

This happened twice years back on Wheatley H R when the ASDA was 100 yards away. They said they weren't allowed to buy it from there.

Maybe special bottles to fit machines

The new food looked great - never tried it though, but plenty were impressed with the new stuff.

I did buy a beer, and staff on the kiosks seemed to be better. Certainly better than I usually get in the south stand. It just seemed a bit more streamlined.

Milk is not in the machines by the way, they just put hot water in a cup already containing the powdered drink, milk is usually available away from the kiosk, and where ketchup, sugar, salt is kept. In the west it is on the back shelves near the windows, the south and east in the central shelving.

There will have been some milk, as it is the long life sachet stuff, they will surely have loads of that stocked up? Just needed someone to either be keeping an eye on stock, or someone saying something.

It's actually a bit bizarre as on the price list above the bar they only advertise black coffee. Maybe the elite in the east stand drink black coffee but not us Donny lads int west. Maybe by Saturday they might get some milk sachets or some white coffee cups.

I’m surprised we haven’t included refillable water points to try and eliminate single use plastic bottles

The food definitely looked appealing and the service before the game was much improved, can’t comment on ht though.
Does the pre order work ?

Plastic bottles filled with liquids are considered to be dangerous weapons.

Whilst we have a fairly relaxed approach to this safety officers at other clubs wouldn’t dream of arming supporters.

I was a guest in corporate for the game with a group from Sheff Wed and lets just say they have a bit of learning to do because it was a bit embarrassing tbh.

Firstly when we arrived the girl on the desk admitted that she had not been given passes nor had she been given a list on who was due to attend. In the end someone came downstairs and ushered everyone upstairs on mass.

When we got upstairs nobody had a clue which table was allocated to who,the seating plan had been changed but it appeared nobody had told the staff so confusion reigned. Eventually they worked it out and we sat down and our food was served. No complaints with the main course it was very nice.We had pre picked the selections a few days before and sent them in as requested. However what ever happened to our Pear and Almond tarts we all picked because they never served us any sweets at all..We didn't complain though to be fair..

We then ordered our half time drinks and pre-paid for them. At half time the drinks were waiting on our table, except the glass of wine one person ordered was a bottle, after checking we had been charged for a bottle..So he called over the waitress to be told they dont sell single glass's of wine. He showed her the menu which clearly stated they do..She came back to inform us they are trialing a new system and it wouldn't allow them a single glass of wine and that nobody knew how to do it.

In typical Rovers fashion there was plenty of blokes in suits and club ties walking around watching proceedings but doing very little of anything and just a few serving running around like idiots...

The evening was finished off by a announcement that there would be no post match interviews and players after the game and thanked us for coming.

I was looking forward to giving the Wednesday guests some stick after our fine performance and win but they were to busy laughing at the fiasco. As one said to me in a straight voice " I really didn't think there was a worse corporate section than Wednesdays until i came here but this is terrible"

I have had some good professional service in there in the past but in truth it was very poor on Tuesday, Hopefully been the first game of the season they will learn from it going forward..

Simple, provide paper cups.

At many grounds bottle tops are removed on bottles carried into stadiums and those served at refreshment outlets. I understand that we don't insist on that.

The point I was making is that if you encourage people to bring in their own water containers and refill them in the stadium you're going to create a whole new issue for the stewards and safety officer. I can't see it happening for the reasons I've given.

Appreciate that, it’s a discussion I’ve had at quite a few grounds.
I can’t see the logic in taking a bottle top off yet putting a lid on a cup of tea.
Anyway back on track - catering is a massive improvement so far

Next time one of the players are playing bad try throwing a cup of tea lid at them, it won't go more than 3 feet. Better as a frisbee.

Eh ?
So would the club consider providing paper cups and access to water so fans could keep hydrated ?
