Has any of the three signed, spoken, been seen ???

In the meantime....

Did a six day trip to Las Vegas in March.

Absolutely worth a visit but jeez its insanely expensive.

Gand Canyon was amazing and one tip is to get show tickets at the box office. Mrs R wanted to see Carrie Underwood and the tickets were £300 the pair in UK. Over there is was £25 each for same theatre seats.

Love Vegas, we spent hours just walking and looking around, covered 16 miles one day.
Had a good drive out to Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, although the heat was a bit much for the kids.
I want to go again without the kids though so I can party hard in Fremont street

Many moons ago I did many periods of time in Vegas 'working' - I spent 3 months there one year.  It never gets boring, but can be a bit samey if you are not filling your day with stuff..... the last time I was there I was filling my day with a cocktail waitress called Cynthia Nelson...

Surely McCann’s deadline was today.

That reminds me of a story.

Me & some mates when we were in our early teens, were on our way from the offy (having had a few bottles of Magnet Pale Ale as we wended our way) when I spotted that one of our neighbours down the road (who I didn’t know particularly well but still no excuse) was having some fencing replaces.

I saw there were three 3ft panels of fencing leant against one another waiting obviously to be erected the next day. It was near bonfire night so I thought ‘one of those would go nicely on our bonie’ so I got one of my cohorts to hold my beer while I stepped into the neighbours unfenced garden, picked up one of the 3 fence panels & away to hide it behind me dad’s garage.

Me mum came dashing into my bedroom next morning livid saying a ‘Bobby’ was downstairs wanting to speak to me.

Like a fool I said nowt & soon found myself down the station in an interview room. Another neighbour had seen me from her bedroom window & take one of the 3 fence panels & had identified me.

It got worse because unbeknown to me the bloke whose fence panel I had nicked was a local magistrate.

Seems a bit ‘Dickensian’ given what’s allowed to ‘pass for crime’ these days but before I knew what was happening I found myself in a juvenile court charged with ‘theft & criminal damage’ (unwittingly I’d walked across his wife’s vegetable plot causing ‘irreparable damage’).

I had my head well down but the magistrate told me to “Lift your eyes & look at the bench”.

He told me that my actions were those of a hoodlum but on this occasion was willing to let me off with a caution given that I had not been in trouble before & that my solicitor had asked for two further fences to be taken into consideration.

Lesson learnt.

Very kind IDM.

For what it’s worth, the brilliant ‘four candles’ Corbett & Barker sketch had an ending where Ronnie Corbett calls upon an assistant to complete Ronnie Barkers order out of exasperation only for the assistant to reveal a cupboard bearing the sign ‘Billhooks’…….cut.

I often thought an alternative ending might have been if Corbett were to have called for a female assistant to finish Barker’s  list of items by calling upon a female assistant, (who would be showing an ample bosom, of course frowned upon today) handing her the list & having looked at it asked “And what sort of knockers would sir be after?”.

Thank goodness for alternative comedy.
