Yes Olowu was class, but special mention for Tom to say it was his first full game for months against premier league strikers thought he was excellent.

His presence, experience and influence will be crucial to our ambitions between now and the end of the season.

Well done Tom. A top professional.

Looked like he’s been starting all season - could have been rusty and no one would have been surprised, but he was outstanding.  Olowu too - had Mateta in his pocket all match apart from just before the first goal.

Yes quite a few on here have questioned Tom, but they can’t knock that performance against very good opposition.
Well done Tom Anderson

Old war horse. Grimsby have a big lad Justin Obikwu upfront who has scored in their last two games. Will be a battle with Tom on Saturday.

He was 11/4 to get a card, I thought that was printing money lol.
As said, slotted straight back in, well played Tom.

There was one glorious moment when he played a pass through the lines when the whole world expected yet another of those shuffle passes typical of our defenders.  Great to see him back and a great performance first time back.

If Olowu goes does Tom stay?

He can definitely play L1, however given his age one wonders if he might start looking closer to home.
When you consider he lives Burnley way, it’s quite a task to be communicating to Doncaster for so long.

Really refreshing to read these posts. Every team needs a Tom, direct, no nonsense. I hope the knockers who have expressed their displeasure are thinking again.

I'm sure Tom will have a mobile phone  :chair:

Delighted for Tom.
What’s the betting he stays in the team now and helps us to promotion.
He might be just what we need!

I think Jay has performed very well this season however, he’s still relatively young & although he’s been sidelined by an injury I don’t think it does any harm to ‘rest’ younger players now & then especially playing in a position where physicality is 95% of your game.

Having ‘Bid Tom’ to call upon is a massive boost for the squad, management & us the supporters.

You take your chances when they come & ‘claim back’ the shirt. I thought Tom did exactly that last night in very demanding circumstances.

Joe Olowu said in his post match interview that the three of them train together in pairs or as a three so that any one of them can seamlessly drop into the position when called upon. Tom showed what they practice on the training pitch they can bring to a match day game no question.

I loved it when the commentator on i player said he was a make shift centre half. You would think that they might have done just a smidgeon of preparation before gobbing off complete tripe.
